*my adult self*: how did this child thrive in all of that abuse and neglect? and where did they get this unflappable confidence? *my child self*: I CAN DO ANYTHING

I was already convinced in ten different ways to play Penguin Colony but the words "Lenval Brown" would have sufficed

been reading the reviews and I have to say people really need to learn about connecting with other forms of art, yall sound like a bunch of jaded customer Karens, that was a beautiful, original, weird game, not enjoying it is entirely on you, that's your fault, pearls, swine etc.

oh! and was the opening title sequence in Penguin Colony a tribute to The Thing? because fuck yeah! damn that game was good

I don't know where I saw it first (possibly in "I was a Teenage Exocolonist"), but please game devs, please allow some way for players to navigate the credits, I want to see the people who made the game at my own leisure

*me playing Penguin Colony*: 🎵 eldritch penguin going for a stroll, lovecraftian horror eating nazis so that's a good thing 🎵

Penguin Colony was epic actually, one of the best depiction of cosmic lovecraftian horror with absolutely no respect for lovecraft's racist ass (compliment)

Just finished playing Minute of Islands, narratively deeper than I first thought. A story about failing at loneliness, the best kind of failure to embrace. Well done and thank you to everyone involved.

And again, the art was some of the best I have ever seen, reminiscent in tone of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind as well the visible influences mentioned first.

This is a very lovely and gorgeous small game. Makes me want to make lots of small wonderful and horrible things again. For now I’ll rest through this flareup, here’s a picture of the foole, drawn in my notebook because I have little energy, but a lot of love.

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

While doing some research on ancient games and the custom of burying people with them, among all the big ones (Senet, Ur, Liubo etc.), I remembered the bronze-age Kazakhstani teenage gamer-girl that was buried with her 180 dice, most likely her high-score. And that is so fucking adorkable.

OH!WARE is a Mancala deckbuilding roguelike, it's beautiful and I am here for it

you know one of the many stories based on the premise of someone trying to build a one-to-one map of a territory? is "the campaign for north africa" the that of boardgaming?

because I'm reading about the two chaps that are committing to playing 20 years of it and I just want to say "have you considered just saying 'I love you' to each other and being vulnerable"?

Godot would never pull this shit

Dan Marshall@danthat.bsky.social

The video advertising Unity's ew AI-driven autocomplete game maker has 'Mari' who has a game idea they "always wanted to make" and that idea is "Space Corridor" and it looks like this, and that's the strongest argument I can think of for keeping game dev out of the pro-AI crowd's hands.

I have been writing music for my games using mainly 1BitDragon and Paulstretching the shit out of it thus fulfilling a lifelong dream of being in a power-trio band comprising me and two machines

I feel like "Paulstretching the shit out of it" as a compositional technique does not get the credit it so rightly deserves

it never works, you can’t make other people see your humanity by showing your pain, them seeing you as human would be the precondition for them to feel like your pain matters.

holy crap! I just realised Murderbot was paying tribute to Teenage Exocolonist with "The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon", whaaaaat?

oh, the lore deepens, it seems TE is actually paying tribute to the books MB is based on, what is going on?! I love that they are now in the same universe

I've switched over Infinite Mac's classic Mac emulation to recently-released and awesome Snow, which unblocks A/UX emulation: infinitemac.org?filter=aux There's a behind-the-scenes blog post at blog.persistent.info/2026/09/infi... detailing this and other site updates.

I started replaying "I was a Teenage Exocolonist" and I have to compliment the writing and overall narrative design, I have never teared up before at the death of videogame characters like this, congratulations, you are a virtuoso at my heartstrings
