Retired vet trying to make it through these insane times while caring for our 10yo, 80lb American Bulldog dogter, Poe I consider myself an optimistic realist. The road we are now on is our reality, and solutions are always better than whining

To SCOTUS (shouting into the void): If you push for a Christian-ruled nation, are you ready for the bloodshed that history shows will follow? Ukraine proves free people fight to the last breath. Not a threat—just reality. How many must die in the name of “Christian love”?

This crap is out of control — exactly what I’ve feared for years. We may not have much power, but we do control our wallets. We’ve gone essentials only. I urge others to join. The more who do, the more pain for the machine. #EconomicStandDown

I have tried for three years to get an Elvis lip photo, tonight was finally the night. I will continue to try for a better one, but she tends to “no paparazzi” me a lot

Just a reminder that your local library has more than books! Many also have dvds, cds, video games, game systems, internet hot spots, streaming services, ebooks, audio books, park passes, museum passes, and so much more! Maybe it's time for a visit! ❤️📚

I very much agree with this statement. In this world of excess, maybe take some time to check your local library out. Want to bring back the “good old days”? Then embrace some of the things that were great before the Information Age. Incorporate them as we adapt to a new era. Just a thought 🤷‍♂️

I have always loved public libraries, but having young children has exponentially increased my gratitude and sense of indebtedness to them. Our local library is such a huge part of our lives. The books, the programming, the very intentionally curated kids’ section. It’s all such a gift.

Anyone else have moments of existential forlorn-ness? It pains me to think of how every generation has worked hard to make it better for the last, and the chain is likely broken. 😞 climate change is already here, and we are shoving our heads in the sand 😔

Well, no Poe Pic today, does her jacket count? Saw this adorable girl wearing her humans puffy jacket, so we decided to gift this one and a sweater. Goes nicely with her painted nails 😊

"One of the great tragedies of mankind is that morality has been hijacked by religion. So now people assume that religion and morality have a necessary connection. But the basis of morality is really very simple and doesn't require religion at all." -- Arthur C. Clarke, born #OTD 1917

Amy is so correct. More children should have the early childhood classics used to open their mind beyond our biases

I grew up just outside Pittsburgh in an exclusively white community. I can’t remember the first time I saw a non-white person in person. Where I did see them was Sesame Street, Zoom, The Electric Company, Mr. Rogers. PBS taught me that all people are equal. PBS is so vitally important.

When I was a young troop, one of my squad leaders gave me a bit of advice that has stuck with me through the decades. ‘Pay attention to every leader you encounter, make note of their good traits, and the bad. Strive to incorporate the good, and avoid the bad’ Applies to relationships as well

An eye for an eye, and we all go blind.

A hearty thank you to all of those that manage to point out the absurdity of this festering cesspool of idiocy

Look bringing back polio sounds bad. But it’s a small price to pay to get rid of pronouns in email signatures and black women in star wars.
