Capitals announce defenseman Vincent Desharnais underwent a successful appendectomy surgery on Thursday and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks

First loss of the season where I have some real disappointment in/concern for. Luckily they have plenty of off days this week to work things out but they need to show they can put a good win streak together sooner rather than later.

The Brewers officially sweep LA and win the pennant. The Dodgers' dynasty comes to an end. There'll be a new World Series champion this year, and no matter what, it's going to come from a small market.

Great to see Miro chip in offensively, will get back to the periods I missed later but from what I saw he pulled his weight despite skating with Ovi. Leno gets a pass as our points leader (at least prior to this game) but this isn't a crazy exaggeration of his defensive play this year.

#NHL Game Score Impact Card for Washington Capitals on 2026-10-14: #ALLCAPS

Chychrun has had a really rough start to the season for whatever reason, hopefully getting Roy back will put him back on track. There is now zero excuse to ever get McIlrath in this lineup again barring a metric ton of injuries, picking him over Holl was ridiculous and now that's even clearer.

Anyways, that was the first of two Tyus Sparks assists tonight. This season is coming along a tad bit slow for him in the goal scoring department but he's still finding ways to contribute #ALLCAPS

Spencer you have done it again

Big fan of this. Hopefully Leno-Strome-Kyrou gets a good amount of minutes, really want to see what that line can do. And Ovi with the Protai is a much better long-term solution than chaining him to Strome.
