Janet Malcolm's "The Journalist and the Murderer" wrecked me. Makes one question *everything*: Psychiatry, forensics, nonfiction, journalism, the military. Plot: Family annihilator *sues* the journalist he asked to cover his trial cuz.... he *thought the author was his friend**??

"Wildwood" was... overwhelming. Beautiful, ambitious, funny, nostalgic for affordable '90s city life (sigh), EXTREMELY violent. Oh! And hippy bashing ha ha ha High strung kids should prolly skip, but your sword-owning, RPG-player goth kid will dig this handmade gem.
