They are all just fricken crooks.

Thereallo, a web developer, decompiled the White House's app and published a detailed breakdown of what's running under the hood. It injects code into third-party websites, loads JavaScript from someone's GitHub, and tracks your GPS, among other things. thereallo.dev/blog/decompi...

These days I find myself apologizing to a fly before swatting it. It's becoming clear to me that there is inter-life and we all are a part of its fabric. Different color patterns, different stitches, but one cloth.

I was camping out at 10,000 feet in the middle of nowhere in Southern Colorado. I had forgotten how absolutely glorious the sky is in the dead of night. We are but a thread on the fabric of life.

And AI companionship. It is only an imitation of presence. It has no sentience. There really is nobody there. You are alone.

I’ve been thinking about the risks of AI for years, which is why I passed the first comprehensive AI bill in the country back in 2024 in the Colorado State House. It got bipartisan support. (1/6)

AI can't be a substitute for human communication and creativity. It is only an imitation of presence. There really is nobody there. You are alone.

I have a BA in sociology and an MS in Civil Engineering. That may seem odd but it's surprising how much those 2 disciplines interact with each other. After all, civil engineering is just the physical representation of our culture.

There are no bounds of shame for those who withhold food from hungry children as leverage for political purpose. It is our civil duty to strip them of their power to cast such cruelty on our culture.

I asked my book club what each of their paths are through the Long Repair: - Food self reliance - Local civil leadership - Education for the future - Endurance skills for youth - Political stewardship - Regenerative and rewilding - Neighborhood resilience Powerful actions going forward.

AI... Mining, extracting, processing, packaging, and selling human knowledge. Same game plan as earths' natural resources. All to blindly feed and grow the economic superorganism, regardless of the fact that it's killing the host we draw life from. Evolution cancer.

Just drove thru south central Colorado rockies. Blue Mesa Reservoir dam shows water level 100 feet down from normal shoreline. Paonia Reservoir is empty. Ouch.

Scale vs. Community. As global scale breaks down, community will be our refuge.

Is the world entering a new commodity supercycle driven by scarcity and deglobalization, or is the market going to keep shrugging off these shocks?

Government laws are written by WAY to many lawyers. Reading them immediately causes a glaze over effect. It gives them lots of room for all sorts of obfuscation, manipulation, and skullduggery.

May I suggest changing the label from democratic socialist to Civil Steward. Not party affiliated but personal, cultural, and environmental stewardship for all. A Civilution.

We are draining our non-replaceable global energy trust in 300 years that it took millions of years to fund.

If the work performed by a single barrel of oil is worth orders of magnitude more than its price, what does it say about the systems we have built on top of it?

Nature always regrounds me. A simple display of nature casting its beauty on my hike today. We forget sometimes to see how glorious our world really is.
