We have to admit the messaging has been very mixed lately on dev to address emerging AI technology. Some of us are wondering why AI cant just utilize robots.txt and enhance the standard with W3C. Our advice, focus on key fundamentals and especially PR on core sites for intent brand mentions.

Do you use open source AI models? If so which ones and why? I find myself mainly using frontier models and recent restrictions have me thinking it’s important to support open source heavily.

When a link to the site is shown (for example, if someone clicks the expansion element), it'll be counted. This is in line with other features that allow some kind of interaction.

As a Canadian I feel very strongly about accessible healthcare for everyone. The answers aren’t usually perfect but somewhere in the middle.

“If your emotions and political partisanship trump the health of Americans, then the problem is you, not Mark Cuban.” @profgalloway.com and @karaswisher.bsky.social react to backlash over Mark Cuban appearing with Trump to announce lower-cost prescription drug partnerships.

The Cornish pastry was created for miners so that the crimped edge could be held by arsenic covered hands. I was shocked the other day to see an arsenic plant next to a river and mine in a classic Interior BC photo. Drinking water and arsenic don’t end well.

lol I just want to know what he spiked to do that 😂🤣

Mark @markwilliamscook.com created a fake standard called cats.txt and now LLMs are crawling it, it’s being indexed, and ChatGPT even says it works for ranking in search and LLMs 😂😂👏🏽👏🏽

GeminiApp voice is gaslighting me lol. It created a Google Keep record after recommending it and then told me it was having issues adding more. After it said it wasn’t able to create Google Keep records or anything outside of voice chat records. That’s definitely a bug to look into 😂

@johnmu.com is Gemini Fast tied to loose GVR loop from general SERP type MUVERA FDE vs more synthesized DeepMind Alethia level synthesis in higher Gemini models? Feels like the social signals favour RankEmbed too strong for non commoditized and dies on reasoning.

Google Gemini Pro is using RAS (Redundant Acronym Syndrome) describing an IDE as an IDE + Environment. Integrative Development Environment is what IDE stands for. It’s like business owners saying SEO optimize it which is also RAS. Gemini describes Antigravity as sounding nice 🤣 (Google product).

I think the Crawled Not Indexed offers little value as a report because users are unaware of its a quality issue from a technical standpoint or not. Google Docs on it are anything but clear when often issues can be server related attributed to throttling (which it often is).

But hey let’s take the guardrails off at the organization in 80% of government. Hopefully it doesn’t pull an Amazon and deletes everything because it found the code inadequate 😆

Limiting access to photos means “protecting yourself from accidentally uploading multiple pictures you do not intend, & ensuring that the app can’t access more than you want, either by accident or malicious intent,” EFF’s @thorinklosowski.com told @HuffPost.com. www.huffpost.com/entry/phone...

huffpost.comExperts Say You Should Never Give Apps Full Access To Your Photos — The Reason Why Is DisturbingDoing this is risky, security experts say.

Using Google in Canada is kind of dumb. We don’t get access to the same things as the U.S. does for releases of beta and Americans do not understand that we use feet, inches, lbs for height despite using metric for everything else.

As a business leader do not transfer ownership of your website domain over to a developer ever. Every business should at minimum own their website and domain. It’s normal to give domain access but never to transfer it over. Managed hosting does not mean you need to give up ownership of your domain!

I asked ChatGPT to I create a characture of me based on what it knew. I’ll tell ya a year apart it’s pretty incredible. Does anyone remember the earlier vision models hallucinating?

Am I the only one that thinks fact checking with search and complimentary AI creative would be nice to have across platforms at this point? People respond best to images, videos and emojis 😂 Grammarly, citations via fact checking, and general rich media creation just seems like common sense now.

Is California losing its ground as the place to do business in the U.S.? If it’s not California then where are things shifting to? It sounds like Texas but not entirely sure.

In the 1930s, German and Italian scientists of principle fled to the US and became the backbone of our scientific and technical advantage, creating massive US wealth. Those who benefited most from their work are now… fleeing to chase lower tax rates. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/09/t...

I think what’s missing here that @profgalloway.com doesn’t address is that to extract rare earth minerals in Greenland you can’t do so without much needed uranium. This is something in contest in Europe. The world needs this and Denmark needs to relax on it asap so Greenland can produce.

@ianlurie.bsky.social noted this and other industry folks have been adamant of it. What’s old is new. Social bookmarking PR bonanza 😆

We've done some tests on recency bias but not like this, love this post and how they're testing and theorizing on updating posts and how different models bias one way or the other, also loved the small updates to test.

If Google wants to eliminate webspam from PBNs consider robots.txt blocking Moz, Ahrefs, SEMRush crawlers. Then deep scan outbound link ratios to content consistency. Discount domain types a further consideration. Drop accordingly, with low processing. Web interactions take too long.

Does anyone else find Gemini’s persistence to hold onto ideas frustrating? You ask it about different things and it hangs on the original thought in working memory while not evolving at all. It’s like a drunk at a wedding right or that unhelpful clerk at the store that blathers without clarity.

Accounts seem to be trolling Google on X to get a response. In both cases they say nothing. I assume it’s auto responses or something shooting into a feeder for social media DM aggregation.

Dear Googlers please fix share link length for Google SERPs because IOS representative of 58% of mobile devices in English speaking countries breaks up SMS/ iMessage. Unsure about Android but this needs to be patched ASAP.

Sustainable business mean doing practical things with sometimes impractical solutions but with a clear outcome in mind. I’m not sure some of these companies have overly defined profitable goal which is concerning.
