Hovercraft 1.2 An archaeologist emailed me last week with a USDZ of an arrowhead. He asked if he could share 3D models on his zoom calls. I said that is an amazing idea. Now everyone can share 3D models on their zoom calls. The future!

Today we release the greatest immersive experience ever created in the history of comedy or cinema on the Theater app for Vision Pro. My friend @billcorbett.bsky.social and his friends Michael, Kevin and Jean-Claude present “Timecop” live in front of an audience, in immersive 3D. The future is now.

This is so unbelievably rad, Norm. I can’t even handle it. You are excellent at what you do! Everybody, check out Norm’s piece!

stick to the end for an interview with @adamlisagor.com about the technology and process they used to livestream @gruber.foo's stage show in stereo 3D!

Have we considered that this died horseshit might be straight from the pro wrestling playbook? No I don’t know why. Why is not the point. It’s all insane.

One of the worst things Elon Musk does (among all the other terrible stuff) is he forms the letter m with his top teeth against his bottom lip instead of putting his lips together. This is called a labiodental nasal m and I hate it for him.

One of my favorite things from the Kamala campaign was I saw her crack an egg with one hand and I thought “that's cool, I want to do that” so I learned from YouTube and can do it now. But any chef friends got tips on one-hand egg break without getting egg on your fingers? Would be cooler that way.

I want to see every act of bravery on here. Bishop Budde’s sermon. Rep. Sherman scolding Trump for his threat to withhold fire aide for political gain. Please share with me here one act of bravery for every one of Trump’s acts of stochastic terrorism.

Very moving @nhpr.bsky.social interview with a Jan 6er from Keene, NH, who rejected Trump’s pardon and sounds like he has grown tremendously in 4 years. “One thing I did not believe in was change before this experience…And now I believe change is necessary for survival.” www.nhpr.org/nh-news/2025...

Yeah it’s not just the salute, it’s the mouth, the facial contortion in anger. Sorry, guys. This is a bad man with the worst intentions.

I want to know what Priscilla thinks of all this throwing of women under the bus.

Casey Newton@caseynewton.bsky.social

It really is such masculine energy to blame things on a woman who no longer works at the company www.nytimes.com/2025/01/16/u...

I rewatched Barbie and realized that Zuck and all the bad men in tech are Ken when he gets to the real world and gets all wet for Stallone in a fur coat on a horse. They don’t know that part is a joke. That’s their level of sophistication. It’s Ken-level. Fuckin idiots.

It’s nice that we had plenty of masks left over from the global pandemic to prepare us for the catastrophic urban firestorm is not a sentence I thought I’d be writing, but I can’t say I’m surprised.

Here’s a take: I abhor autoreply emails. Find them personally offensive. It’s like holding up your finger when someone talks to you to say “not right now”. It’ll be fine if you don’t autoreply and respond later when you can. Almost everyone sucks at email and you won’t be judged.

Here's my theory of everything: people are nicer to each other when they feel safe. Help them feel safe and they'll be nicer. I don't think there's anyone this doesn't apply to. And I'm talking first-order safety, not safe from intruders kind of thing. People feeling loved not hated means safety.
