The National Atmospheric Deposition Program has released the first publicly available weekly wet deposition PFAS dataset for the U.S. from their new PFAS-NTN Subnetwork (PFN)! The data are free and open on the NADP website!
Maybe companies don't need to be so big that they can't provide customer service/support to their clientele such that their customers are forced to rely on a different company's "super intelligent" chatbot that then outsources it to tech/media journalists...
In the last few weeks i've been bombarded with emails from people who have minor tech support problems. ChatGPT is telling them to email me, writing their emails, and compiling "evidence packets" after convincing them they have stumbled on a major story: www.404media.co/chatgpt-keep...
It's giving Florida 2000 energy...
Blanche on CBS says his suit against Alaska is "asking the court to step in where the Alaska Supreme Court didn't, which is to look at federal law and if necessary to allow a process for Alaska to decide who should be certified as the winner." (So, the voters won't get to decide. Got it.)
The fog trapped in the Mohawk River valley was stunning from 10,000ft—looking like a convective cloud over the river itself, seeping into the dips and valley areas as a smooth radiation fog with the peak fall colors around... but I'm in the middle seat and couldn't snag a good photo.
Some beautiful sunrise fog (aka a bunch of wet aerosols) at the airport this morning on the way to @americanaerosol.bsky.social in Pasadena, CA. #AAAR2026 #SeeYouInPasadena

The TSA agent graduated from @albany.edu a few years ago with a degree in criminal justice, and was very cool about it. He unrolled and inspected my poster as delicately as possible, and let me roll it back up, while another agent took the tube to another instrument for further inspection.
"I was able to calculate 9[([3(49)/4] + 2019 - 87)/3] instantly in my head. I've done it three times now. I won't tell you the answer tonight... do you know which one the snake is? Anyway, have you heard about my ballroom?"
Trump: "You know, the first question -- they have a lion, a snake, a giraffe, and a bear. And they say 'which is the snake?' ... by the time you get to number five a lot of people are left out on the road ... I get no credit for it."
Self-harm. Nothing else to describe it.
Update...it's not just Canada 🤦♂️ As a cost-cutting measure, NWS has removed ALL international observations (outside of US buoys) from its site. A shame that such a simple and helpful tool had to be removed due to the Trump administration's anti-science budget cuts.
When you need to print a poster, but need to go through the bowels of the @albany.edu campus to do it...

Hi. American Jew here. I have not ever, and will not ever, vote for the GOP. It has never demonstrated or proven to be in my interests (or the interests of any of my friends, family, or wider community). I'd love to know the *real* background of these purported interviewees.
It's late 2026 and NYT *and* WSJ continue to spread the lie that American Jews are moving en masse to the party of American Nazism.
The abstract...
Here's a sneak peek at the extraordinary work that will be in my presentation for #AAAR2026 next week...

If history and seasonal patterns mean anything, the new first snow of the season should be right around the corner... (Although recreating the photo might be difficult, as at least 25% of these subjects have since finished their position in the department.)
The first #snow of the season at ETEC has predictably attracted a crowd! @ualbanynews.bsky.social
