"I brought my own bag," I say with a smile. "Understood," the cashier reply. They lower my purchase into a plastic bag without breaking eye contact.

It's so weird to see a good Peter Parker page in an Avengers' comic. A lot of writers don't seem to get Peter and the "Parker Luck". They think it's just Peter being knocked down, unable to juggle life. But the best written version of it is when he manages to be there for the people he cares about-

-but fails in just tiny ways like making a shitty lasagna. He tries, but still fails, because he doesn't have the time to make it good. If Aunt May is in the hospital, he'll break his body fighting Doc Ock and go with a limp and broken arm, but he'll get there. It's not just failure failure failure.

Oh @kupogames.bsky.social, I'm so dissapointed. You could have "Super Saynyan". Still, having fun with Epic Battle Fantasy 5 in these rough times. The nostalgia game is doing the good nostalgia.

My want to watch the new Avatar is being over shadowed by not having enough time to sleep properly...

to drag out a metaphor i've used before: at this point AI code is like poop, in that there's microscopic particles of it all over the place. you should wash your hands. you should yell at people who proudly throw their poop around. but it is not your failure that you live in Poop World

bluesky is using AI, fourthwall is using AI, patreon is using AI, twitch is using AI, my tiny german internet host in the middle of nowhere is using AI - unfortunately everything tech related will be touched by this shit somehow. all you can do is disable it best you can and tell them it sucks

The only IP that's safe from executive meddling at this point is probably Sonic, because Sega knows the furries will mess them up before they get out of bed.

Sega pulling that dogshit Total War remake is just so embarassing, man aftermath.site/sega-total-war...

Currently one of my favourite indie dev. Played Matt's games all the way through my childhood till now.

I've updated Find Matt's Cats on Steam to version 2.0.6. The memory leak has been fixed and the game should run better for most players. Sorry it took so long. Full change log is here: store.steampowered.com/news/app/262...

I stumbled onto the leftist "AI is sentient" side of the internet, and it is somehow worst than the right's "AI is sentient" side.

Like, I can understand the right's reasoning (fascism and capitalism), but the lefty version just seems like... stupid people.

Genuinely, @kenney.nl is a gift to humanity, particularly the game dev side of humanity.

I saw this video on Reddit of DuneCrawl, which uses my Asset Forge for sketching. I love it, in fact, I loved seeing this so much that it gave me a lot of inspiration. Big plans for Asset Forge, hopefully will already be able to share soon. redd.it/1x2fy0r

I reanalyzed the CDC data behind the LGB “free fall” headline. It rests on a change in bisexual identification among one grade, in one wave, of one survey. Gay or lesbian identification did not change significantly. Calling it a "free fall" is sensational and just gives bad actors talking points.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Young teenagers are less likely to identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual than a few years ago, according to a new analysis. “It really does look like a free fall,” Jean Twenge, a professor of psychology, said. “But what’s causing it is unclear.”

Currently watching a shop's staff lose their minds as their in-house vibecoded registration system crashed and can't restart because the restart button isn't actually connected to the restart function.

While doing additional research for my Hank Green and AI video, I stumbled upon a white ethnonationalist teaching culture at a university in Japan, and these are the kind of information I just don't know what to do with.

If I had a penny every time one of my favourite comics character is named Verity, I'd have two pennies worth (haha pun), which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice.

This is how journalism that picks up a narrative from govt sources and other media end up misrepresenting reality to readers. This says charges are for “protests against the death penalty” which, w/o context, paints a diff picture from what actually happened. www.independent.co.uk/asia/southea...

You know, my Reddit feed is starting to flood with game designers and creators (for both digital and tabletop games) using AI images and saying things along the line of "I don't have money to hire artists so I use AI". That's a lie. Art isn't expensive, never was. Commissioned art is expensive.

So if you ever "need" generative AI for art, you either have severe creative skill issues, or am just a control freak to the point of apathy. Seriously, just pick up a pencil. Draw stickmen. Use photos. Effing MS Paint. I've NEVER found a need to use generative art for over 20 years doing this.

Seriously, if you're a creator, it should be super embarrassing to use AI. Art's not expensive. You're just a dick.

Almost single asset I use on my all my other creative endeavours are either affordable stock images, creative commons licenses, or public domain licenses. Throughout my entire creative career, I've only commissioned artists for stuff 4 times. Here are some things I've made for free or less than $5.

There are also those who says they only use generative AI for concept art because they are not artists. Get real. Bish, I am not an artist either. These are concept art I've made by photomashing and vector tracing as old as 15 years ago. One of them contains assets generated in bloody Minecraft.

This is my game, Box Dungeon, which I made a few years ago. Custom art, all around. I paid the talented Lois Chng (www.instagram.com/thecheepchee...) about 2k for it which was about 80 illustrations and box design, then did everything else myself. Was it expensive? Yes. Was it worth it? Also yes.

And this is FARSWIPE, the current game I'm working on. I use stock images from the amazing Tithi Luadthong (tithiluadthong.com) which I licensed over 150 of for just $1.50 each, and some custom art for $400. Could have done without the customs, but just wanted it. Tithi's stock cost less than $250.

Dear everyone. Bring whatever drnnks you want. Bonus if it's pink. Bonus bonus if you drink it mid sentence without breaking eye contact. Assert dominance.

Is asking someone to leave the beverages at home for an interview as fussy as reminding a lady to wear pantyhose or a gentleman to ask before lighting a cigarette? We assembled a team of Post staffers across the newsroom — and commenters — to find out: https://wapo.st/4dwx0LS

To understand my family's lack of kitchen abilities, know that they call all knives that have touched a bread, a "bread knife". Butter knife? Bread knife. Cake knife? Bread knife. Chopper? Bread knife.

You know, it's very weird that I don't mind watching other overweight content creators. But whenever I see MY overweight face on video, I get very conscious about it. When I see other's jiggly faces, I don't even register it. But when I see mine, I can't stop thinking it must look gross to people.

I saw someone mention that being a Final Fantasy Dissidia fan is like being stuck in a pileup on an icy road. You never know when the cars will stop crashing.

🧵 Today I was charged under Singapore's Public Order Act for “taking part in a public assembly within a prohibited area”. 3 friends were also charged for the same offence. The assembly in question? Posing for photos outside the State Courts after my friend Jolovan Wham's court mentions in Feb 2025.

As an aside to all the sad posting about people being unkind, I do want to show people why I continue to speak up about kindness. I got to talk with someone who worked on a beloved show, who did not always see their fandom's love, and tell them they are loved. That meant a lot. #OnceARanger

Done fighting the apathetic minority of Dropout fans on Reddit. Summary: Me: It would be nice to do a kind thing. Them: No one's entitled to kindness! Me: Sure? That's the definition of kindness. Them: People weren't kind to me! Me: I'm sorry. Them: So we shouldn't be kind to others! Me: I'm sorry?
