rebounds off the left kickback plate are legal, this is a USBC-sanctioned spare 👍👍

Rabothy@rabothy.bsky.social

Thats one way to get a split spare in Switch Sports Resort. XD

What super irritates me about this is that the market is supersaturated, so using AI to quadruple the games released would likely cause them to net 1/4 revenue, regardless of the AI part. But Tim Sweeney is a middleman in the AI ponzi scheme who needs to sell downward, so this is what he does

I can't believe he's still at it, it's been days

if u live in or around montreal, i'll be selling prints and a couple t shirts all day today at the punk rock flea market at foufounes électriques ! spread the word

we've signed the charter of ethical use of the money we stole from the orphanage. we pledge that any time we steal money from an orphanage, we will use it only to make the most ethical of purchases

daylight savings vs standard time arguments are all skirting around the very important truth that we should be sleeping 10-12 hours in the winter

2D shaders are *finally* in 🎉 it's a big deal IMO because a lot of indie games don't need much out of the box, as long as they can render sprites with shaders

Bevy@bevy.org

Bevy 0.20 is out now! It features Solari and DLSS improvements, better BSN syntax, BSN "ready" events, WESL is now Bevy's shader language, more UI widgets (color picker, scrollable list views, dropdowns), Sprite Materials, Extended 2D materials, Pan Orbit Camera, and more! bevy.org/news/bevy-0-...

ghosts? no thank you! skellingtons? not for me! this Halloween's spooky mascot is the Creepy Female

i was worried this would ruin my productivity, but she's actually a perfect 25-5 Pomodoro timer! looks like it's time for my next 25-minute break ~

also if we're going to use proper tech terminology, "vibe coding" should really be called "brute force coding"

my game dev goal for the day took 20 minutes because of code reuse. do i move on to the next goal or do i take the day off?

fun fact: bears *are* one of the smartest members of the animal kingdom

lauren@lauren.rotatingsandwiches.com

bears aren't the smartest members of the animal kingdom but they are the species that would best understand the primal satisfaction of eating a hard boiled egg over the sink

i've been thinking constantly that- AI discussion aside- the "use it or get left behind" message is just bullying. like it's a blatant, aggressive posturing that shouldn't form the basis of any logical argument or civil discussion. the AI ad campaign is made entirely of red flags

Lizzi Luna | AdorkableDragon@adorkabledragon.bsky.social

I'll say it until I'm blue in the face. The people that keep saying "if you don't embrace AI, you'll be left behind" are the ones that are actually worried about being left behind. They clearly, deep down, don't believe they have enough value on their own.

i think the zelda art direction is neat. It's kinda like fairy tail storybook meets elf on the shelf. I love the way zelda games reinvent themselves with new canon and art direction- it reminds me of the way traditional stories like King Arthur get reinvented over centuries

weird that people expect tech companies to defy an executive order renaming a lake when 1) tech companies are actively destroying the world

Kid Named Five Albums@toskarin.bsky.social

sad dad fiction is, in ideal circumstances, a lone wolf and cub sort of narrative that is much more about being responsible for someone than it is anything else. in more common circumstances, it's an absolutely harrowing look at how people conceive of their daughters' internality (read, lack of it)

when you think about it, a lot of plants are dormant in both winter and summer and only show signs of growth for a few weeks in the spring and autumn so why can't i? is it so wrong to be productive only 3 or 4 weeks out of the year? is it such a crime?

in fact, AI is actively destroying the tech industry. all the coders in my circle are drowning in AI slop PR reviews and no longer have time to do real work

Charlie Stross@cstross.bsky.social

My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.

i've been working on some a custom UI framework in #godot that works in world coordinates. Here's the same menu, mounted to the camera and mounted to a physics object. Components can responsively fill anything with bounds- panels, sprites, collision shapes, etc. #screenshotsaturday

gardening is all about watching the cutest little guys nature has to offer come and eviscerate your hopes and dreams

the same thing happened with roguelikes imo. like people say "oh it's a roguelike because it's hard and you lose everything if you die" no a roguelike is when you drink an unidentified potion out of desperation and turn into a woodchuck.

i've been replaying Dark Souls because everyone is always "get good" this and "get good" that, but i always remember Dark Souls being a game where you steal the cheese. can confirm i've stolen the cheese at least 3 times now and haven't gotten good even once

the problem now is that no one can play Dark Souls without being tainted by the "get good" rhetoric. like they'll walk into a room where a 3-storey monster made of iron and teeth guards a treasure, and they'll say "i will engage him in 1-on-1 combat and win" no little mouse, just steal the cheese
