I'm going to try to do this cleanly. Today's right wing governments are networked to each other. Those networks are well-documented. You can read about them in books. Following the elections in one node of that network is good practice for understanding the U.S. node.

I just think Matt's wrong about this. We're at a point in our technological development where a ton of problems spill over national borders--if Flavio Bolsonaro burns down the Amazon, that will flood houses in Miami.

A tradition unlike any other

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

Leading a federal agency means doing actual work. The only skills these people possess are: kissing Trump’s fat ass, scamming people out of money, and spouting off on social media.

I legit lmao when people were asking when Hegseth would get fired over Signal-gate. I was like, Pete’s staying precisely because he *is* weak and incompetent. Makes him even more dependent on Trump and Trump loves that. Gives him leverage.

No. She got obnoxious and ended up in the papers. Greed doesn't get you fired in this White House. Making the president look like a mook, however, gets you canned in a hot second

Hey, I’m just asking questions. Ignorant questions, bigoted questions, questions that have been repeatedly answered for many years. Sorry, but I’m not listening to answers right now; I’m far too busy asking questions. It’s called being intellectually curious.

Just a reminder that the few remaining experts at the CDC's food-borne illness division identified Taylor Farms as the source of the cyclospora outbreak very early on, but because the owner of Taylor Farms is a big Trump donor, he was able to prevent a recall for weeks as thousands fell ill.

There are a lot of Trump officials who need to be impeached, but Russell Vought -- the quarterback of all the Project 2025 fuckery and a central player in the administration's overreach -- really needs to be at the top of the list.

Actual czars were weak, insular, ineffectual, and corrupt aristocrats who were widely loathed. Yet somehow that's the metaphor we use.

President Trump is expected to name Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton as the new artificial intelligence czar, spearheading AI policy across the administration. on.wsj.com/4j2bdiW

it continues to absolutely boggle my mind how few people realize that refineries in the US Rockies, Plains, Midwest/Great Lakes rely so heavily on millions of barrels of Canadian crude oil *every day* and have since the 1950s

Trump's TIME interview is wild. He can't stay on topic, can't stop rambling. The first question he gets is on AI safety, and he rambles about golf. He can't hear questions. Steven Cheung has to jump in to answer q's Trump can't. He tells the same stories over and over, but acts like they're new.

It's junior-league Soviet show trial-level stuff. They concocted fake 'evidence' for the purpose of smearing a witness and recycling the smear through giant the RW media maw. At a hearing of the United States Senate.

If the BS being pushed by sitting senators as 'evidence' had passed the miniscule low bar of Benny Johnson, the next stop in the RW media chain was full coverage on each of these shows.

I, for one, am *not* convinced that Peter Thiel’s supposed criticism of the second Trump administration is sincere. His fingerprints are all over Trump 2.0, and it’s more than “just” JD Vance. 1/

Odd to find people not getting the con Sen. Schmitt et al were running. Ummm all they were doing was using a Senate hearing to throw some BS to their RW podcast bros like Benny Johnson, and let them do the rest. And they couldn't even clear that lowest of low bars. bsky.app/profile/albe...

Alberta Clipper@albertaclipper1.bsky.social

It’s lazy, junior-level Soviet-show trial information warfare. They simply are making content for the RW media machine to be repeated and recycled in the broader media ecosystem
