I can’t be the only one who remembers people being livid that Wind Waker was cartoony and people adamantly hating on it for the art style then Twilight Princess came out with a more drab, realistic art style and people fell over themselves because it looked like the GC demo pre-WW? Right?

A cartoonist named Daniel "Des" Rolando Sanchez Estrada was tried as a terrorist and sentenced to 30 years in prison for having anti-Trump comics in his car. Prosecutors connected him to a 2025 anti-ICE protest he didn't even attend because he was in the same book club as others who were.

And on my most disappointing I’ll put, in no particular order: 1. Digging up Tupac’s corpse for Stranger than Fiction (RGG can’t help but not fuck up a good thing huh?) 2. Ocarina of Time Remake having zero gameplay footage (that whole Direct coulda been an email) 3. Crazy Taxi’s Gen AI (gross)

The Tupac in Stranger Than Heaven thing is weird and gross and Sega should be called out for whatever that is. But also please keep that same energy with the new Capcom and Onimusha, too, because they are doing the same exact thing and it’s the damn main character.

I love Backloggd as a site & keep tabs on myself & others’ game playing, but you will NEVER catch me making a spread sheet or looking for optimal strategies to complete my video game backlog. I get wanting to experience everything you can but talk about sucking all joy & art out of a medium.

I get wanting to be “productive” but it just feels bleak & weirdly capitalistic to want to consume as much product™️ you can so you can then move onto the next product™️ immediately after. Never to fully engage with it. Never allowing yourself the freedom of just sitting there with it, doing nothing.
