Zelensky: "When our strikes reached Yandex’s data centers, it suddenly became a little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. A lot of people noticed it. There was less hate, less division, and fewer provocations. Because there were fewer bots. It’s pretty clear where those bots were."

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter. I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

The longer generative AI exists, the more of what we take for granted is going to become toxic cognito-hazard waste. We are living in the era of contamination. It is happening all around us, and the people doing it have names and addresses. 13/13

Please share this widely. There have been 13 peer-reviewed critiques of the Cass Review, to the extent that academia regards it as pseudoscience, but so far all have been subject to organised censorship by mainstream media. This is the first time one has broken through. Oz Guardian only still.

Worked hard to get this into Guardian Oz & big props to @fiercemum.bsky.social for setting it up & Melissa Davey for publishing it. She will doubtless get loads of hassle from transphobes for it, but it needs to be out there. Puberty Blocker bans harm trans kids, no-one should pretend they don’t.

“Helping potential and actual gun violence victims is a bridge you could have crossed a long time ago, and you chose not to. You pray in order not to feel culpable in horrendous acts of violence. You pray in order to feel good. And for this, I say: fuck you.” Absolute poetry. Dark, dark poetry

“Sovereign Citizens” are dangerous to democracy & physically dangerous to citizens in democratic nations Giving their conspiracies a platform to wrap their delusions in a false equivalence to free speech is disgraceful The Americanisation of Australia must end before more Aussies needlessly suffer

Because of course there’s a precedent

The right-wing backlash against #Superman this week got me thinking: Has this happened before? That led to the discovery of these headline — from April 1940, when the official newspaper of the SS took umbrage at the comic book hero and ridiculed its creators. My how times change ...

Since I saw that photo of him swimming in the shit water, I’ve been thinking he has strong “Acolyte of Nurgle” vibes. Glad to see I’m in good company there!

RFK Jr. looks like he has every single plague at the same time.

An observation/random thought on the Aus election; I never really got a sense of Dutton’s humanity until his concession speech. I know my media consumption habits make me a tough nut to crack there, but that’s maybe something for whoever ends up as LNP leader might want to think about

I’m almost tempted to say we’ve reached peak doublespeak, but I know it’s only going to get worse…

Well, I guess it was either going to be space travel or WW3… can’t say I’m surprised
