wow I really kinda forgot how to social media huh

I don't need an excuse to hang out and talk with Dave, but this was an especially good one. We talked IN DEPTH about the specific steps we took to raise $60k for his short film, in a way that I'm confident anyone can replicate if they're willing to put in the work. Give it a listen!

so hey did the PPA just stop ticketing while every street parking spot is still messed up from the piles of ice and snow? or do I just keep getting lucky?

All I can think is "Ketchup without a cause" and for some reason that's hilarious to me

Oh right this place is bananas.

Booked everything last night, New Orleans just so happens to be the first place we ever traveled to together back in 2013. Gonna be a tasty weekend full of music and revelry. 🎉🎉

Giveaway hint!

The Wissahickon transit center is a fucking beautiful piece of infrastructure. Honestly, everyone involved deserves a lot of credit.

many months ago, I uploaded a photo of my partner to a website of a science youtuber who promised to send a special photo rig to space to take "space selfies" with the earth in the background. Marc Rober, you sure as hell delivered. so cool.

Sooooo people seem to think this is pretty cool. Here’s a peek under the hood at how it learns from every action and decision that happens in the system, even going as far as auto-updating SOPS and suggesting new features to improve existing workflows. New video: youtu.be/vWRwa9GMM00?...

yup - my approach has been flat files and git backed by default, database when data integrity matters.

But why are they trending

my relationship with tech has drifted over the 10-15 years as things became more about hyper-scale and extraction vs creating and collaborating. this, uh, resonated deeply with me and i hope it resonates with you too: resonantcomputing.org

Nothing makes me angry like someone else wasting my time and resources on a problem I told them how to avoid

I have snoozed so many emails until December 4th, I'm sorry to my future self 😅

Theeeeere it is. There's the take I've been waiting for.

This guy sums up many of the most important ideas woven through my work in under a minute. Compounding isn't just for money. It's the root of all success. Momentum is way more important than speed. If ya need a pep talk, consider this.

Each one has earned their spot on that list and stays there. Each one also has a trusted alternative. I’m also not afraid to tell a trusted collaborator about someone on the list and what they did to get there. I thankfully don’t have to do it often, but where this is useful, it’s VERY useful.

I know not everybody likes or agrees with me, and that’s totally fine bc I generally get along really well with the vast majority of people/orgs I’ve ever worked with. That said, I have a short list of “hard no” collaborators. Literally less than a dozen. It’s always interesting when they show up!

assembling the rebels

I miss being on the internet with people making stuff and sharing it. Not performing or sparring, just like a huge couch hang with your friends while you do your own things but together. Can we do that again?

Okay which one of youse did it

Just saw someone say Pusha T raps like he's casting a spell and man is that correct

"Morality of the storality" is gonna show up in common discourse, if by common discourse you mean talking to me any time in the near future.

We can have good things!

@farfarraway.bsky.social any chance you have ever explored the history of Dave's barber shop in Old City? This week I learned about the story dating back 60+ years in the same location, and the story is AMAZING. A true Philly institution that nobody knows the real story behind 👀

Go get em

Always fascinating to be within earshot of people talking about their impressions of other coworking spaces. I don't seek it out, and it doesn't change what we do @indyhall.org in any way, but man. The bar is low.

Good things can still happen!

Finally checking out the Rusty Nail in Ardmore and so far it is *delivering*

Uh oh. A TikTok comment has escaped containment and now I get to experience the full range of psychosis and bots in the year 2025.

The fact that I have seen at least 50 news pieces about Iron Hill closing but not a single one connects it to private equity is making me 🤪

We need to sell about 500 of these to fully fund the native plant project for 2026. We're at about 90 so far so we're getting there! Tell your animal loving friends about this calendar 😘

This song is going viral on TikTok, about the place I grew up, and I've never felt quite so seen about a place that both shaped me and depresses me to no end. The song slaps, too. never expected to be sk into Appalachian folk in 2025, yet here we are.
