We'll never defeat our real enemies while we're at each other's throats. Even villains believe they're righteous.

New additions to my birthday body count. In years past, the only person of note to have died on my birthday was Vincent Price. Now I can add Chekov and Bugs Bunny...

Been kinda quiet cuz I have too much going on! ALL the current political/cultural/economic stuff, pest infestation, injured on the job, family crises, cat missing, impending holiday anxiety...and more! I doubt even friends see my feeds anymore, but I'm just waiting to thru survive year's end...

I kinda can't help but agree that it's more ethical to bootleg a human artist's work because it at least potentially draws some attention/business to that human artist. Whether it be through some reverse image search or word spreading of the artist suing the bootlegger.

Hi, 80s/90s kid here with a PSA. You don’t use A.I. to make a flyer for your event. You’re supposed to bootleg the art from this strip of Calvin and Hobbes dancing.

The Internet Archive has a museum for the weirdest art of the early web. 🖼️ It’s called GifCities. Thousands of animated GIFs rescued from the first wave of the web. Glitter. Dancing. Cats. Strange little loops that survived. 💾 Go find your perfect retro GIF 👉 gifcities.org #ToolsYouCanUse

Happy to watch the officially sanctioned, reality show formatted docuseries "The Center Seat II" on the Star Trek next gen movies... But I am DISGUSTED by the omission of James Marsters originally being cast as Shinzon. Even just a mention would've been appropriate.

I kinda wish they'd revive a game show like "Win Ben Stein's Money". Of course not with Ben Stein, but I like the concept of a famous smarty who not only hosts the show, but has to compete for the prize money. I guess the key is finding the ideal host that's book-smart, relevant, and fun to watch.

Haim Saban and Avi Arad were going to do a KISS Christmas special. Just as they were about to nail down negotiations, Haim told Avi “now we gut him” in Hebrew. Gene Simmons spoke Hebrew, and said “You asshole, I’m one of you.” Needless to say, the special did not happen.

Tell me a fun fact.

You wanna know what I wanna see in the few episodes of Strange New Worlds we have left? Some mention of Welshy. We've had a good couple Doctor Who references... Give us a tiny nod to make Welshy canon.

I really hope this is some cosmic balance thing. Like the grim reaper is gonna tell us, "I know! I know! I had to take them... Cuz then you're gonna love who I take next." Fast forward to "Breaking news from the White House..."

Peter Cullen, the legendary voice actor known for voicing Optimus Prime in the "Transformers" franchise, has died at 85

Aw, shit... Today of all days. RIP Dolly. We'd only recently become fans, especially since she supplied our daughter with free books for years. After hearing her interviews, stories, and music over the past few years, she truly earned my admiration.

The kid at least appreciated Dolly (LOVED Dollywood) but so far hasn't shown to let the news sour her birthday. I know what it's like for someone I thought was cool die on my birthday. Finding out Vincent Price had died on my birthday was a bummer on an otherwise awesome day.

It's been ten years. I remember it like it was yesterday. My kid has reached double digits! Her life's reached a new metric, no longer limited by years, but by decades! I'm so proud of Natasha and how she's grown. Happy birthday, my wee one... I love you!

My kid, like most, watch YouTube mostly via Shorts rather than long-form videos and I think I finally get why... Shorts doesn't play ads. YouTube has increased the length and frequency of their ads and nothing kills our desire to watch faster than the interrupting ads. So I hate it, but I get it.

I'm kinda happy to see job sites put out ads that suggest "Looking for work? We can help find you a job!" Cuz for the past 10-15 years, I've only seen those sites boast "Are you an employer looking for employees?" Employers don't need help accepting applications. People need help finding jobs.

Like, in my past experience, the scam's always been a recruiting site/company simply taking applicants to build a stable of names/resumes, boasting to employers "Look at all these candidates! Pay us to hire your chumps." That's where the money is, but I'm not signing up to be a name to pad a list.

Finally saw an ad for Indeed targeted to people looking for work... The real people in need of making money. Not the dumb/greedy employers saving a buck by looking to pay a recruitment site to not bother with the hassle of hiring nameless/faceless employees they need but not connect with.

I'm always seeing comparisons between Amazing Digital Circus and I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream... But the more I look and think about it, to me TADC is way more like The Breakfast Club for Gen Z.

I'd love to talk with a seasoned expert on consumer-level printers. I'd have SO MANY questions. Like, for decades, all my home printers, when turned on or restarted will spend 5-10min doing...SOMETHING. Then when I task it with printing a doc, it will do...NOTHING. Takes 3 tries to print anything.

I actually still have a couple copies of our fanzine. An old friend thankfully found them in his possession and sent them to me.

I finally have it! So grateful to be a part of it and the generous pages of ink given to my name. (Only gonna share the art page here.) Gonna blaze through this over the weekend.

In dark times it is easy to become overwhelmed, to feel helpless. That is what your enemies want. Defy them. Deny them this, and let that be your first step toward denying them victory, and then seizing it yourself.

I was wrong! They answered a lot of questions and stuck the landing!

Sean Ryan@alphacounter.bsky.social

I have tickets for the kid and I to see the theatrical finale of The Amazing Digital Circus tomorrow... I'm expecting a very Damon Lindelof kind of ending where none of the important questions are answered but the characters are given an emotional conclusion...probably.

Like, the show's had less than a dozen episodes over two years... I'm VERY sure the writers had no endgame planned out. More likely they adapted as they went along; influenced by viewer response and creative changes. I just hope they stick the landing. 🤞

The next time a director says bullshit like this, I want the interviewer to ask: "If AI was around when you made your other films, which artists would you have fired?" I mean it. Name real fucking names. Of all the brilliant people you worked with, who do you think doesn't deserve a job anymore?

The Spaceshipper 🚀@thespaceshipper.com

"He argued that generative AI is primarily helpful in terms of organizing ideas, testing concepts and producing images, rather than generating human stories that resonate with audiences. “ Dozens of talented designers and concept artists did a tremendous job on Godzilla, Rogue One, and The Creator.

For decades, Wilford Brimley brought awareness of diabetes, just by how he'd pronounce the word. If we wanna reignite that fire, we need someone with a thick Irish accent. "Doi-yah-byee-tess."
