First time I'm making burgers since dad passed. He's the one who taught me, and I always loved how he did it. Taking my own twist to make a couple double quarter pounder bowls, a fraction of the calories, all the protein and I'll hope better flavor. But feels good to do this again.

I've gotta call today off. I got word of a family medical emergency. Everyone is okay, looks like it's resolving, but I'm just kind of more thoroughly rattled than I realized by it. One of my biggest wins in my fitness journey right now is that I'm going to bed wearing a shirt I haven't worn for five years. I'm almost at the halfway mark, and I may even try to go further (healthy, if I want to). But I feel good, and can't wait to get where I was 9 years ago and stay there.

Read a book, said "Thinking causes all pain but thoughts are organic things and feelings like flow state" Yeah that one's weird to me. And I'm AuDHD, so, thinking is baked in. But I know what to do after deep breaths now. Cause deep breaths used to just mean I was well oxygenated to yell louder.

But I do agree you need a *break* from constant flows of thought from all sides. It has kind of exposed why I feel so much peace just putting my iPod on and just "music, nothing else". Think I need some aux adapters for my devices to start watching stuff and to kill notifications completely.

Well, FFXIV is down, today has sucked, I think I'm gonna rest with a book and we'll try the finale tomorrow. the world does not want me to stop playing ffxiv. I'll write my own damned ending if this keeps up, with blackjack, and hookers. ... so, the Quicksand.

In the process of stupefying some of my tech, just had my first cardio night with an iPod classic mock-up. Aside from being 30 degrees cooler, no damn notifications, 22:34 2-mile jog and walk for the rest. MAN I have missed being disconnected at some point in the day and didn't realize it.

Dad was a self-made man. Worked hard, honest, did right by his clients even if it hurt him. But when his health got bad, we had people there for us beyond the job, helped us keep our house. "Brand loyalty" is dumb. Treat people right, and most'll treat you right. That's what people stay for.
