@herberthistory.bsky.social I know you get all kinds of recommendations for books & folks to have on #Reckoning, but I think Rayelle Davis is a must! Her book “Money in the Mountains: The Cultural Trauma of Appalachia” is right up the pod’s alley. Rayelle is pretty awesome too! www.rayelledavis.com

Do I know any journalists or news outlets who might be willing to write an article about the months I’ve spent begging GoFundMe to release the funds I’ve raised? I wish this were more common knowledge so no one else finds themselves in this position. (Please boost!)

Thankful for this pod that introduced me to @jreedmo.bsky.social I am typically not speechless. But Julie leaves me speechless as she talks about the story of her people, which is also her story. I do not often buy a book before I hear the author speak on @herberthistory.bsky.social’s pod, but

I did this time. And I’m glad I did because this book is coming off the shelf & TBR pile today. As always, this pod is a gift. Thankful for Julie sharing & Jason’s recommendation!

Friends, I am watching a local county commissioner meeting in which the commissioners want to shut down/consolidate two local fire departments and woooooweeee!!! this makes school board meetings look like child’s play. One of those commissioners invoked the name of Donald Trump & I am done. 🤮
