California has walked the walk on independent redistricting at the state level for 15 years. But we cannot unilaterally disarm while other states throw out the rules to gain power. With one vote, Californians can punch back and also demand nationwide independent redistricting.

States have the constitutional authority to establish the way free & fair elections are conducted. President Trump is attempting to dismantle our democracy, again, by threatening to eliminate mail-in voting. This is something that Oregonians have been doing, safely & securely, for almost 30 years.

What separates us from these Republican states is that California trusts our voters. We don’t play political games. That’s why we’re exploring a ballot measure to let voters temporarily adjust our congressional map if other states decide to manipulate theirs.
