Hi! Been a minute, was doing a lot of different things. One of those things was making some assets for @theneolanders.com MMC project, unfortunately for various reasons that project was cancelled, but I still made some stuff for it! Here's a short thread showing some of that stuff off. 1/6

Wish my brain would work correctly so that I could make more things and actually finish things and get better at making things so that I could make finished things that are actually good.

New avatar model I have been working on, wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try some more complicated details, this is the first avatar that uses baked normals from a sculpt.

How tf do people make coherent modelling time-lapses. I consider myself to be very proficient and fast when it comes to operating Blender but I still look like a bumbling dumbass actually using it just as a consequence of my creative process.

As a left-handed person it is insane to me that those Valve Deckard Roy controller designs that were left in steamvr files aren't symmetrical. They are not cooking with having a full-ass D-pad on a VR controller.

Obviously it is an unfinished design, and they took back the steamVR files for it since they clearly didn't intend for them to be leaked, but I worry that it will remain until the final revision if nobody complains about it, which is what I am doing right now, despite my... limited... reach.

they look like this btw, images taken from SadleyItsBradley's twitter, but anyone with steamVR installed might be able to find these in the files. They were just sitting in there raw. On a positive note, bumpers and more face buttons is good. Loss of touchpads has downsides, but is understandable.

Seems completely out of touch with how the vast majority of VR control schemes are, symmetrical, ambidextrous. But this is coming from the company that made a game where the gun is locked to one hand, left handed mode swaps the sticks, and you have to use an external controller rebind to undo that.

Don't get me wrong Half Life Alyx is a great game that I enjoyed, but it shows that form factors of usage outside of what they personally believe the average person needs are a complete afterthought to them, at least here. And having it be a hardware instead of software issue is so much worse.

Man there's a lot of things I need to do and things I said I would do and things that I should get around to at some point, then the back of my head is like "No but you should make another new thing"

I didn't even mention because I was just happy to get everyone together on a little project but this was for a costume contest and we won! Wooooo!

I love seeing all of the incredible 3D artists on here but it definitely makes me feel like I am banging rocks together like a cave-enby in comparison. I'll get there someday.

Did a cheeky little print of the #Neolanders logo, came out pretty well especially with the actual ring part, might remake it to take a inner diameter which scales it up so it can be worn like an actual ring
