Poem for Halloween Monday 10.26.26 ~ Andrea Cohen Ghosting -How cavalier people are-with language and with silence. the last thing we mean to do —is leave you.

My favourite horror article this year - all good boys and girls!

Two dogs. One rule. The dog must live. Casper and Molly's horror watchlist, from Dog Soldiers and Gremlins to The Lost Boys and Good Boy, plus the films they rejected. https://gnofhorror.com/horror-movies-where-the-dog-lives/

If you're a fraternity alum (from any school/state) who experienced sexual violence as a member, I'm here to listen. I understand this is extremely sensitive and I will treat your story with the utmost discretion and care. Reach out— Signal: marisakabas.04 Email: marisa@thehandbasket.co

The V/H/S anthology series has been on a downward trajectory for a while but holy moly, the 'Heartbeat' segment was the absolute stuff of nightmares.

Renny Harlin's 'Mindhunters' is a wild ride - how have I not seen this delicious slice of early-2000s serial killer nonsense before? Se7en meets Untraceable meets Saw meets The Bone Collector... I don't know man, just watch it. On Netflix UK til Halloween!

#Iamjanedoe is trending and for good (awful) reason. I may watch 'The Autopsy of Jane Doe' tonight. Sometimes horror films feel closer to vindication and retribution than anything that happens in real life. If you keep treating us like witches, we might start acting like witches.

TW: sexual assault, angry email Dear President Kotlikoff, I am adding my voice to the chorus of emails you have undoubtedly received in the wake of reports of the heinous gang rape that took part on your property, committed by seven of your students against a vulnerable member of your community. 1/?

Please show older men and women that the world has changed, that sexual assault is not a joke or a throwaway misdemenour, but an act of violence which ruins lives. I doubt you will read this far but please, do something. 4/?

An essay is woefully insufficient consequence for the alleged actions and it is an insult to ALL survivors of violence. You have the power to do better and to be a powerful man on the right side of history, for once. Yours sincerely, Dr Amy Beddows 5/5

This is - and has always been - unacceptable and it is too disgusting to put into words that a prestigious institution such as yours would turn a blind eye to a horrendous act of violence against a young woman. As a trauma therapist working at a UK university, a sexual assault victim advocate...2/?

and someone who is literally writing a book on victim blame, please do better. Please show young women and young men across the world that women and girls matter more than as merely sexual objects to male privilege, or offers of 'free pussy' in group chats. 3/?

Watching 'Loner' on FoundTV (it's also on Amazon Prime) - it is quite charming and surprisingly sad. "That fucking cabin... although technically I don't think it is a cabin, I think it is a fucking glamping pod." I'm excited to see what Charlie Robb and Douglas Tawn do next.

Did you miss my Horror Film Therapy fringe show? Fear not! On Friday 30 October at 6pm, I'll be running an online workshop on therapeutic film watching. It will be a welcoming space for anyone who likes horror and wants to explore its emotional benefits. #Horror #therapy #horrortherapy

I imagine this is a worry for people at the moment. To be clear, my classes are explicitly and actively trans inclusive. People can feel excluded from Higher Education for a whole host of reasons from disability, to neurodivergence, to race, to queerness, to class. If you have any worries, DM me.

If Dolly was our constant reminder that it was Good to be Good, Tim Curry was our reminder that it was Good to be Weird. Embrace your strangeness, sing with Muppets, wear your lingerie with a leather jacket, and fuck with uptight people who hate anything that makes them remotely uncomfortable.

One of the greatest line reads of all time. Tim Curry for Command And Conquer, clearly it was a one and done and he could barely stop laughing at the ridiculousness of the line. Perfection

I don't scare easily but I've just started 'Them' (season 2) and it is the most frightening thing I've seen in a long time. Luke James is INCREDIBLE as Edmund.

My final Horror Film Therapy show is on Monday - my previous show SOLD OUT so please, if you're thinking of coming along, get a ticket. Monday 24 August 1:30pm The Stand 2. www.thestand.co.uk/performance/... Because a good scare is self care! #edfringe #horrorfam

Sick as a dog (and missing some awesome fringe shows 😭) so watching 'Hereditary' in my jammies with the blinds pulled right down even though it is glorious sunshine. Why are we like this? (and by 'this' I mean badass at self-care).

Thought I'd start my day with a silly little horror film and accidentally watched 'Clickbait' ('American Sweatshop' US title). Good grief. What an unassumingly brutal film. That's the day ruined. #notwithmycheerios

On the recommendations of the Faculty of Horror, I watched Marina de Van's 'In My Skin'. Wowzers..... what a film. It has imperfect women! Useless boyfriends! Grotesque body horror! The crushing weight of surveillance and control of female bodies! French arthouse goodness! What's not to love?
