Or little ones....
#ThatKenfigTree#KenfigPool ins South Wales. Dont know how old this one is but its been here a while. When the water recedes in the summer it will be on dry land. In the winter, it is an island.
Thanks. I have lots of this tree.
For some reason.
Usually take a pic as we pass.
Warden many years ago claimed it was the most photographed tree in Wales. Who knows.
There's a pretty big one that's been there over a hundred years at the nearest intersection to the main road by me. I appreciate standing in its shade every time I'm waiting to cross the road and enjoy the feeling of the bark.
Beech, Discovery Park, Castlecomer, Ireland. Not National Trust land I know, but hey, I got very excited seeing this big tree, so that's what counts, right?
This is so true. There's a giant sycamore in a park here in my borough that is believed to have started life sometime in the 1650s. It is amazing and I marvel at it every time I go by. I've even hugged it a time or three. Trees are awesome!
I am 73 years old, and I still get excited by really big trees. My dissertation was a weekly measurement of the diameter of 200 trees of Baldcypress, 200 trees of Swamp Tupelo and 300 trees of Water Tupelo. Almost all trees in one part of the swamp were Water Tupelo.
One thing I keep talking about all the time is when I saw the stump of a really big tree that had been twisted and snapped by a tornado. REEEEEALLY impressive!
