Thinking of deleting this account. Compared to Threads and elsewhere, it’s like throwing posts down a dark, uninhabited tunnel. At least I get someone throwing something back over there.

Obama in Michigan: "He is focused on home renovations. He should be on HGTV! ... He's got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory"

The kind of mail I like to get! My story on “Crystal Lake” made the fall subscriber cover of @fangoria.bsky.social. If you’ve been bingeing the show, check out the mag for my interviews with Linda Cardellini, who delivers a glorious performance as Pam Voorhees, & series creator Brad Caleb Kane. 🔪🪓🏕️🩸

Speaking of "Crystal Lake," if any New Jersey people are wondering if their town's in it, a few weeks ago I went through the many local spots used (def not limited to Blairstown) w/the show's location manager. They even built a whole Star-Ledger newsroom! njmonthly.com/articles/art... #Fridaythe13th

Let's hear it for Brianna Brooks (Devin Kessler), the intrepid Star-Ledger reporter in "Crystal Lake." 🗞️ Sister of Levon Brooks (William Catlett), police chief of Crystal Lake who used to be a Newark cop.

Rivera (originally played by Jimmy Smits) dies in the 1984 pilot of the "Miami Vice" TV series and Det. Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs becomes Crockett's new partner. Oscar winner Michael B. Jordan, who grew up in Newark, is playing Tubbs in the film.

It's always amazing how I can justify doing work in pretty much any condition — punishing migraine, blood sugar roller coaster, random dizziness included. But chronic illness is gonna chronic illness when you have to do something relatively simple, like go to the store.

Director Michael Showalter topped the box office for the first time with "Verity." "It's a vibe, it's kind of unhinged," he tells me. “I was just like, ‘I want to make a movie that feels provocative.'" It's his second film with fellow New Jerseyan Anne Hathaway. njmonthly.com/articles/jer...

I am angry tonight. Because tonight ICE shot a New Yorker. They shot a New Yorker while his five year old child was in the car. ICE makes this city less safe. We want them out. Now.

I just read this story. What a hellish world for women.

I desperately want Yakko, Wakko and Dot’s take on this … not just about the tower changes, but like, who are the Skydance brothers/sisters/creatures? Is this a Shelbyville situation?

There’s officially a new Hollywood colossus in town. bit.ly/3UbEPA7

Remembering when the mere mention of Gaza was removed from a headline on a story I wrote ... because it would apparently make editors uncomfortable.

fyi there is an “ I am Spartacus” moment happening right now to protect the victim in the Cornell horror to stand in solidarity & in order to protect her an anonymity we say “I am Jane Doe” & hopefully we can keep her from being doxxed

I was watching one of those celebrity genealogy shows when I realized I've never looked up my maternal family's name in the Yad Vashem archives, as the celebrity had done. I once visited in Jerusalem, and I know most of the family were killed in the Holocaust. 1/2

But I always thought their specific fates may be lost to time. Turns out someone submitted a testimony for my great-grandparents in 1957. They were just one family of so many lost. Now we are witnesses to generations being lost in Palestine. 2/2

Since people are talkin about how all our dress-up clothes used to be business casual, who remembers the painting of Napoleon that would be displayed v. large in front of Express stores in the '90s? Jacques-Louis David, "Napoleon Crossing the Alps." Conquering our closets, one button-down at a time.
