I just checked something: I think Olivia Chow received the most votes for mayor tonight of any Toronto mayor ever? According to tonight's incomplete numbers on the city of Toronto website "unofficial" tracker, she's over 500k. I went back through the 80s on Wikipedia, and no one ever cracked 500k.

This is the only really happy election night I've had in 20yrs of voting at every level of government. Nunziata is not only out but in THIRD, and a decisive Chow victory. This almost makes up for the night Rob Ford was elected and I wept all night as I watched results come in alone lol

After having Nunziata as my councillor for TOO LONG and her conning her way to a 94 vote victory with misused email address last time, this is a profoundly beautiful sight with 59/62 polls reported.
