This is the same guy who installed a new kitchen and part of the counters and all the decorative railing on top of the cabinets are just... sitting there, not in any way attached to anything

I've inadvertently learned a lot about the guy who lived in this house before us. Pride in his work?

Remembering that one time we found out the drain in the kitchen sink wasn't hooked up to anything either, it just went down into the crawlspace and sat there

My janky-ass house is the gift that keeps on giving! I got hyped up to replace the doorbell transformer that burned out. This is what the internet told me to expect...

Now I am having a dark night of the soul. Do I try to figure this out the way I planner, or do I call an electrician who knows about code and safety and so on?

You know, I actually don't want Trump to die in the next month specifically due to the risk that voters will think, "Great, the problem is gone now, it's safe to vote for Republicans again!"

There's so much frankenclothing. Plaid flannel on the left and sweatshirt on the right! Denim jacket in front and Oxford shirt in the back! I know I said I hate it already, but listen, I really, REALLY hate it

Okay but what if this is the stimulus needed to create Roko's Basilisk and without it you're getting in its way and will be punished? WHAT THEN, ALTMAN?

its feels like a mass psychosis where tech leaders continue to insist you can be cruel, mean, and hurt the feelings of lines of code

You really shouldn't be mean to Claude, but it's not because Claude's feelings will get hurt, it's because you're shaping how your brain behaves around real people also

This is great in theory but I'm catching a lot of places where the pinyin is VERY CLEARLY not what the audio said :|

You might think the biggest scourge facing the games industry is genAI but it's *actually* overpaid corporate executives who are ONLY able to recognize the art through their own small-minded, narrowly-focused understanding of how regular people perceive the world.

This is a great thread. AI is supposed to be great for neurodivergent people, but my experience is that any digital list of things I gotta do will make me never, ever do those things.

Believe it or not, a lot of people do not have to-do lists. And the the lists many of them have are not structured for an ai agent to be helpful. This isn’t groundbreaking. If you have ever watched the evening news or read even a single story about people who aren’t like you, it is pretty basic

And lololol capturing all of the things that I need to do is a huge part of the problem, if I was capable of telling AI all the things I need to do and how important they are, the problem would be 80% solved already.

Which is to say an AI chatbot just isn't going to know that I need to repot my monstera or touch up the paint in that one kitchen corner or send out some new queries *unless I tell it to* which... my guy, if I'm already doing that much of the mental work...

The one thing that mostly (but not always) works is making decisions about the day in the morning, and writing that down on paper. Having a list isn't the part that engages executive function, MAKING it does

I just found an old note where handwriting recognition saw my "Week of May 24" and turned it to "Weep o'slay 24" Now I have to write a horror franchise, right?

This post right here is gonna be a banger for the ages, I feel it in my bones
