Midway through my call with @nbedera.bsky.social, I was so shocked I asked: "How are you not incandescent with rage every day?" If you want to understand the Cornell case and why universities fail survivors, read this. You may become furious too. (Gift link.) www.thecut.com/article/trum...

Are we really all "drinking abortions," as conservatives have alleged? Of course not. But that hasn’t stopped the Trump administration from launching a drinking-water study that will test for traces of abortion pills. Our explainer debunking these claims: www.thecut.com/article/epa-...

Big news: The family of Tierra Walker, who died after she couldn't get an abortion, is suing a slate of Texas actors in state court, including AG Ken Paxton. They say the state ban is unconstitutional. This is the first suit of its kind. 19thnews.org/2026/09/texa...

There is a corner of the internet I had never heard of before I started reporting this story. It’s called the “burnerverse”: a network of anon burner accounts ostensibly discussing college sports. But they have another goal: destroying young girls’ lives.🧵: www.wired.com/story/burner...

From a journalist who's covered abortion for a decade: this is a HUGE deal. SBA Pro-Life America is the top political group in this space. It had so far refused to publicly embrace using the dormant Comstock Act to restrict abortion (like ADF, AUL, Students for Life). That reticence ended on Friday

It truly bothers me to call San Juan an "American city" (and the video isn't even from San Juan, the location at the top says Trujillo Alto—a completely different town.) Puerto Rico is a colony of the United States. Let's be precise with our language.

A major humanitarian crisis is unfolding in a San Juan, Puerto Rico. Hundreds of thousands of people in and around the American city are facing rolling water shutoffs brought on by an historic drought. NBC News’ George Solis reports from a well that locals are using to get their water.
