NEW: Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said in an interview with extremist organization Live Action that his intervention in surrogacy cases is about promoting fetal personhood—an argument that could imperil not just surrogacy, but also abortion, IVF, and some forms of birth control.

It's similar with abortion - they say they want better evidence but they break the systems for building strong evidence and elevate weak systems because they know those systems will empower their allies to inject bias into the "evidence."

HHS wants a new Medicare code that pays doctors extra only when they attribute a patient’s symptoms to a vaccine. Vaccine critics say doctors are paid to push vaccines. We aren’t. Under this code, we’d be paid to blame them. My new piece in @cidrap.bsky.social: www.cidrap.umn.edu/childhood-va...

One of the big findings in my research is that people invested in disbelieving victims are not swayed by evidence. Just like other issues of misinformation, they cherry pick irrelevant details to allow them to continue to believe whatever they want.

You know what pissed me off about the Ramaswamy ad beyond the obvious grotesqueries? There’s no EVIDENCE disputing Acton’s life story. There are court proceedings backing up her story. And all Ramaswamy’s got is the (accused) mother saying “nu uh” and somehow that’s enough? FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

There’s a reason big names writing about abortion access don’t touch stories like this. The most well-known have either directly taken money from reproductive rights groups or huge repro funders, or they’re getting financial help from sponsors supporting repro advocacy. We’re different by design.

Susan had previously reported a number of allegations about PPSE’s interim CEO, including that she wanted to halt abortion care in GA, the only state PPPSE covers where abortion is legal. But this suit contains some pretty eye-popping allegations against another member of leadership:

Elise Rose is not your typical Jeopardy contestant. She is a co-author of bogus junk science that the anti-abortion lobby is using to try to restrict access to medication abortion. That’s why we found it so interesting that the question that took her out was ABOUT SCIENCE! (1/2)

When I sent this story to one of our Missouri sources, she said she hoped Bailey (a former Missouri AG) wouldn't return to the state to help pass its anti-trans, anti-abortion ballot measure. But of course, that's exactly what he's doing. From yesterday's @autonomynews.co roundup:

Autonomy News@autonomynews.co

NEW: Andrew Bailey, the FBI's No. 2, has resigned. He may have set the stage for investigations into abortion pill providers. As Trump faces pressure to restrict pills, FBI Director Kash Patel recently said he was open to criminal probes. The public wouldn't know until someone's in handcuffs

Seeing tons of posts about this on threads now, people are absolutely apoplectic thinking they’re real

Team Paxton appears to have sent out fake mailers to Texas voters impersonating a trans student group and claiming to want to help kids secretly transition. The actual group said they had nothing to do with it, despite the mailers copying their aesthetic, and the address traces to a random UPS box.

These grants are related to Title X, a federal program intended to fund family planning services like birth control. These specific funds are meant to train and develop the family planning workforce. The Trump admin has reframed the program, training grants included, to focus on fertility.
