Making short, finished(?) games in Godot 📍GR, MI - software dev and 3d artist. I made the original liminal spaces game called Anemoiapolis: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1522960/Anemoiapolis_Chapter_1/

As part of the backrooms gold rush, I'm glad that Kane won the "canonized" version. Feeling melancholy about ditching my original Anemoiapolis chapter 2 game (Hi fans). But also... is Backrooms a critique of AI? Because it hits the bullseye. If so, Parsons is up there with Ari Aster or Villeneuve.

Next week I will be joining the race with my manual-drive 2006 Nissan Maxima

Lightning, a running robot developed by Chinese smartphone maker Honor, finished a 21-kilometer (13 mile) run in Beijing in a stunning 50 minutes and 26 seconds, beating the human world record by more than six minutes. https://cnn.it/4mLRxQ8

Slow but steady progress on my school architect game. You'll get grants to add random rooms and have to figure out where to put them. Points will be scored based on what rooms are nearby, failure is based on arbitrary metrics because its the american way 🦅🎆🚁

One of many reasons why I'm not focusing on high-fidelity immersive games like I used to. When friends or family wanted to buy it for their Mac or switch, just had to shrug and say oopsie Also, cohesive realistic 3d is insanely time consuming

This is going to happen... a lot. Not just because things like the Steam Deck encourage a minimum viable hardware spec, but because a growing portion of our players cannot and will not be able to access major leaps in hardware. RAM and GPU prices are making the cutting-edge player more rare!

The older I get, the less I feel the need to prove myself to the world by making something at the very edge of my limit. I'm more interested in making things I can show or give to the people who I regularly see irl.

I'm a simple man. I see procedural building and I smile

Procedural buildings are for #GrimShiver, but I think I'll also add them as toys in the #Wilderless games. This is my first test at using gizmos to change a house - just the width/length/height for now, and thinking which other variables to expose. NimianLegends.com

Okay I think I've figured out Godot enough. I've always wanted to make tycoon games, now its time to make a powerful modular system that I can re-use for multiple tycoon games in a row. A tycoon tycoon, if you will

Spooky Halloween fact #1: We don't actually know if the zombie deer prion affects humans after 30 years of infection. This is because it became prevalent about 25 years ago. Spooky fact #2: if you have ever eaten food grown near deer (most US food), you probably have the zombie deer prion.

gonna release a video game featuring copyrighted materials i don’t have a license for BUT the original license holders can opt out afterwards if they don’t wanna be chill about it that would go fine, right

Exclusive: OpenAI is planning to release a new version of its Sora video generator, which creates videos featuring copyrighted material unless copyright holders opt out of having their work appear.

Last night I invited some unsuspecting friends to a backyard projector screening of old goosebumps episodes. What they didn't know was that I had spliced in all of the commercial breaks. The ads get progressively more bizarre, and the last break goes completely off the rails. It was well received.

great news! you're not actually seeing karl rove, john yoo, and david frum criticize the administration's lawlessness more stridently than dem leadership. you, reader, were infected with rabies by a brown bat 36 hours ago and this is all just the virus working its way through your nervous system

The people dominating our political landscape, culture, and economy are just so stupid and full of shit it's almost impossible to describe

Charlie Warzel@cwarzel.bsky.social

Hello. I wrote a nice long essay about AI and this very strange moment where we're constantly told we're living in the dawn of a strange new future but the only thing that's actually clear is that everyone feels pretty unmoored and uncertain. I hope you'll read it

Throwback to the last time I tried doing leg IK in #Godot engine. Results were flawed, but fabulous. Also, I think this was the first character I modeled and rigged from scratch using #blender - I'm usually more of a hard surface modeler.

If this were true, we would have a functional passenger rail system

one thing that has slightly slipped through the cracks is that yesterday Trump said that 9,982 out of every 10,000 people are autistic
