Does anyone else miss the days when every single election didn't feel like the "single most important election of our lifetime?" For the first time ever, I voted for a House candidate that I truly believe in. I did not vote for the (D) running for Texas CD-3, I voted for Evan Hunt, a Democrat.

I did my part to save America.

I got tired of Spectrum outages. Not having options for fast internet service, I designed a network that uses a T-Mobile Home 5G Internet Gateway to provide a secondary ISP that's still reasonably fast during Spectrum outages. The hardware cost less than a USR Hayes 56K modem that once ran my BBS.

The schedule I'm using to train for the DVER100K has 2 rest days - Friday before the long run and recovery run weekend and Monday after. I used to hate rest days, but it cost me in injured IT bands and strained muscles. I'm older now and hopefully wiser now which hopefully will keep me injury free.

WTF is with all of these running clothing companies and the prices for shorts and shirts? I mean, I get paying a hundred bucks or more for a pair of shoes, but for a pair of shorts or a shirt? Stop it already. I'm not paying extra for your shorts or shoes because you sponsor an elite ultrarunner.

Today's run was solid tempo work.

Some days working hard feels really good. Today was one on those days and this was one of those runs that felt really good. 3:1 intervals are perfect for mixing speed and tempo over a medium distance run.

Today's run was 4 miles with 3:1 Galloways (rip). Solid effort with an oppressive dew point hovering around 77°.

Today's run was a 3.25 mile hike with a 30 pound weight vest. It's muggy out there making hard things even harder.

Today's #run goal was 4 miles at 12:30/mile pace. Nailed it. It's pretty muggy out there though with 90% humidity. #Running is made harder by humidity and dewpoint than it is by temperature alone. Dewpoint here at the moment is 73° which translates to oppressively muggy.
