Xcode 27 wishlist: Adaptive app icon for internal TestFlight builds where the longer it’s been since you installed it, the more transparent it gets, fading into nothingness like my hopes for shipping a new app by year end

Folks that carry little notebooks to jot notes instead of using your phone, I’m curious: where do y’all carry your stuff? I typically try to carry as little as possible, but between wallet, glasses, keys, phone… where do I put the notebook & pen?

Glitch project hosting was shut down on July 8th, which made me pretty sad. It tried so hard to bring back the best era of the web: a time where things were weird, where they were fun, where you could right-click > View Source in your browser and learn.

Not sure who needs to hear this, but: The half-day you spend closing a ticket almost certainly won’t matter in ten years, but the half-day you spend working on career development absolutely can.

This was supposed to be a maybe-too-subtle jab at how we’ve lost all of the delight and value of the open web, and every single reply I got pointed to using AI to get what I’m looking for. I think this is Actually Very Interesting.™️ Angelo Stavrow (@angelostavrow.com) bsky.app/profile/did:...

Been trying to get to a point where I can run 5K, twice a week, using a training program from the NHS. Today's run was tough — lousy sleep and too much time away from running had me pooped by the halfway point. Next run will be better!

Do you all have a Swift package for text editing that you’d recommend for a writing-focused SwiftUI app? Don’t really need things like multi-cursor support or syntax highlighting (except maybe for Markdown?), mostly looking for something performant and, ideally, extensible.

If you’re a content creator, does knowing that bots are crawling your work to train LLMs make you feel more likely or less likely to put a wall (e.g. subscriber-only content, like newsletters or whatevs) between your work and the open web?

So listen, I know there's a loneliness epidemic and I see first-hand the effects on what a life deprived of social connection does to a person on a regular basis. I'm here to tell you AI is not the answer. (Neither is social media, for that matter.)

Efficiency NECESSARILY comes at a cost to resilience. Whether you're talking about a team, a process, or a system, if it's efficient, it's fragile. If it's resilient, there's redundancy. Finding the balance for whatever problem your org is trying to solve is why they pay you the big bucks.

Hey, iOS devs — what are your favourite examples of App Store screenshots done well? (In other words, in line with App Review guidelines, but also more than just straight screenshots with a headline.)

Just because you tell me to "reply with Unsubscribe" if I don't want your continued unsolicited business requests doesn't mean I'm not sending you to spam after signing you up to a selection of notoriously obnoxious e-tailer newsletters, actually
