In 1975 I saw the original run of the Rocky Horror Show in London. The stand out moment was Tim Curry's rendition of "Sweet Transvestite" ("from trans sexual Transylvania"). Doubtful that song would get past the TERF Squad today without complaints. We've gone backwards. RIP Tim.

I didn't used to worry about facing abuse or assault in the street for my ethnicity, not like people of colour have to do every time they leave the house. That's changed now.

Why, as a Jew, am I expected to have a pre-prepared opinion on the situation in Israel and the Middle East which you can demand to hear like you'd demand to see my residence permit?

We feel a constant fear that people don't really like Jews and don't really trust us. A fear that, given a repeat of historical circumstance (and it wouldn't take much, it's always there, bubbling under the surface) people, even friends, might turn on you and cause you pain.

People of colour can call out racism, Muslims rightly highlight Islamophobia. Females can point out misogyny, but it seems when Jews describe something as antisemitic, sone feel entitled to tell Jews that they're exaggerating, lying and treat them to a lecture on what anti-Jewish racism really is.

All Jews have experienced this. People, even friends, making jokes about, for example, Jews being stingy. Then, if I point out that I am Jewish, they feel awkward. "Oh it's just banter. We don't mean you!" Conversely, if I say nothing, I feel awkward.

Could we do a Truman Show situation where we build a fake Oval Office where he watches AI created fake news about himself and let him believe he's still president and tweet the hours away and meanwhile we can impeach him and move on...I'm not sure he'd know the difference

When the Right talks about us they use playground words like "lefty" "snowflake" "wokerati" etc. When we talk about them we use historically accurate terminology like "Right Wing", "Fascist", "Nazi", "NeoCon", "Libertarian" etc. What does that say about the Right's level of intellectual engagement?

Isn't it time we acknowledged that JKR, apart from being a hideous TERF, is an appalling writer? The HP books are SO badly written, getting more bloated and tedious as the series went on.
