I ran @USAID health programs for the last 3 years. Trump’s 90 day Stop Work Order on foreign assistance does serious damage to the world and the US. Examples:🧵

Yesterday someone posted the link to watchdocumentaries.com/active-measures/ that discusses the playbook of how Putin exploits the vulnerabilities of open democracies to kill them. What is happening to us is exactly the same as what he did to Georgia. Enlightening. Thanks to whoever posted it!

Governments should play a role in evaluating the potential impact of new products or updates from Facebook and other social media platforms on children and vulnerable users. There should be a shared interest in protecting users, rather than allowing social media platforms to benefit unilaterally

Google and Facebook-owner Meta Platforms urged the Australian government on Tuesday to delay a bill that will ban most forms of social media for children under 16, saying more time was needed to assess its potential impact.

Bluesky is great, but as any online service it’s better when you’re safe, and they make it easy to verify it’s really you using your account. They’ll email you whenever you try to log in. To set it up: 1. Go to Settings 2. Select Privacy and Security 3. Enable Email 2FA Stay secure and enjoy!

Hey @jay.bsky.team @bsky.app, could Bluesky add invite-based onboarding for communities like www.thetransmitter.org/community/hu...? Adding tools for auto-list joining (where new members can be added to curated lists automatically) & self-moderation (like Reddit) would boost trust and ease growth

In case you were not there in early days of Twitter… DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO BLOCK LISTS. It sounds like a great shortcut, but malicious actors come in and create lists that include folks from our side. This was a huge problem in 2017 on Twitter. Just block trolls as they hit your feed.

Returning from a post to the timeline in @bsky.app doesn’t refresh the timeline, unlike "the other platform," where you're forced to scroll back like chasing a bus you’ll never catch, while it keeps speeding up and hurling random passengers at you. This calm approach is such a relief. Grateful

You are up to date.
