Change is terrifying, especially personal change. Every single time that you look in a mirror there are changes that you do not notice. A body constantly in flux; getting older, changing hormones, gaining a wrinkle, and on and on and on. If you remember every blink in a mirror, what would you see?

The closest ability to do that is here on the internet. I can be anything here. Even when I don't socialize much, I can feel more like myself from behind a screen. Some things help in real life, it never feels like enough though. So I'll keep dreaming of that world where change is possible and fluid

This has been 'I've been up far to late and wanted to ramble about nonsense' with your host: ArchaicPyro, the girl who definitely doesn't want and yearn for fox ears.

Too tall? Just a blink to being shorter. That trodden down look? A blink to remove it. Desiring animal-like features? Well, just blink for that too. A world where you could change how you are perceived permanently. One where no form is solidly set and locked in stone. I like to imagine this world.

I often imagine this world. I play around in my headspace far more often than I should. Forms aren't solid there. Forms aren't realistic there. They are just more comfortable there. Changing and forming to how I feel, how I want to look, and never being able to express that outwardly.

Just imagine it for a moment. Think of the first time you look in a mirror, visualize and blink. You see the changes, disheveled hair, bags under your eyes, the signs of a life spent stressed. Or maybe you see something else, sparkling eyes, a bright smile, signs of an unstressed life. Maybe a mix.

None of that really matters now. Every look in a mirror, every change is just a step to where you want to be. But, imagine a world where you could have everything you want. It wouldn't matter how stupid or childish you think it would be. Imagine a world where you could visualize, blink and change.

So the plot of my favorite animated movie that I've watched this year is 5 demon twinks torment a bisexual traumatized polycule and steal their fans for like... a week This is spoken through my own headcanons

Repost if $30k would change your life right now

Matt Darling@besttrousers.bsky.social

I don't think $30k is a life-changing amount of money. Median American born in 1980 will have $2m in income in their lifetime. It's a 1% increase in earnings.

We dissociated, had some kind of mental health crisis the last month and spent a bunch of money on credit we have no way of paying back rn. Avery always knew what to do damnit. Hell, if they were here they would have probably been the only one who could help me out of this dumbass slow spiral...

But this slow spiral is because they're gone and we lost my mom less than two years later. What do we do with this, how do we cope with this. We shouldn't be *dealing* with all this at this age! It's unfair! We hate this life There are things we love in it but we have living in it at the same time

Even the massive good feels... like it doesn't outweigh all the heart wrenching loss. It's so so hard to continue. It's so hard to be patient and and We just want to give up

think our trulicity is doing *too* well, we skip it every other week but on the weeks we take it it is consistently dropping us into the low 50s i didn't really want to deal with this rn

It's almost a joke at this point, but the entire story of Mamdani's mayorship really has been "it turns out we can just turn off the orphan grinding machine, the switch was right there the whole time."

New: Mayor Zohran Mamdani and City Council Speaker Julie Menin have reached a deal to abolish NYC's horse carriage industry — a critical breakthrough in a decadeslong, politically fraught effort to ban the tourist attraction. www.politico.com/news/2026/10...

I should write more. Haven't written anything except for a couple of HDG things this year, one of which remains unfinished because I ran out of steam Just not sure what I'd want to write though

Mental health is crazy cuz one moment we can be totally fine and the next our brain will just shunt one of us into the front and tell that one that we don't want to exist anymore. And then, we say aloud to ourself "What the fuck brain, we had a good day and we're fine literally seconds ago???"

It's strange how Democratic Socialists - who are being denounced by both parties - turned major deficits into balanced budgets in both New York and Seattle.

Amy Sundberg@amysundberg.bsky.social

BREAKING: In Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson's new proposed city budget being released Tuesday, there is no projected deficit through 2030. Given the state of the projected deficit over the past many years, this is quite an achievement.

my most woke opinion is that i don’t care what consenting adults do with each other or the art they create and neither should anyone else. it doesn’t matter if it makes me or anyone else uncomfortable.

Now, nothing can be done about this one yet, I think it was federal charges, but this highlights the importance of Dems winning this cycle and next cycle. These people are suffering for speech. They can't be pardoned by the Governor but a Governor can do a lot to stop things like this even happening

Hopefully the republican position has become so toxic that Abbot loses to Gina Hinojosa. The shift left is guaranteed but it needs to shift by a million votes. I believe in the good of people, I believe that they can choose correctly if they are informed.

You don't need to convince me that voting the lesser evil is the logical choice for people to make. You need to understand that your logic has overwhelmingly lost elections. If your goal is to win elections, "we're not as good as the other guy" just doesn't cut it. It's imperative they do better.
