When Sigourney Weaver has to throw a basketball one-handed backwards from the other side of the court and have it go through the hoop in Alien Resurrection, the director told her to just throw the ball randomly and they would add it post, but the ball went through the hoop no special effects needed.

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

Just finished Tiger, Tiger, aka The Stars Are My Destination (i prefer the former name). Very hard to put my thoughts in order about it. On the one hand it's just "The Count of Monte Cristo in Space!!!" and the "science" id preposterous, but the end was quite thrilling/intriguing. #booksky

12 Monkeys has a masterful ending and must be the best time travel movie ever made. But why does Madeline Stowe pronounce advertisement like she's wasn't born in the US? Timekeepers of Eternity is really neat but fancy editing can't overcome the lousy script and acting. #lastfourwatched

From the wikipedia. Snyder, however, also admitted to fashioning an effeminate villain specifically to make young straight males in the audience uncomfortable: "What's more scary to a 20-year-old boy than a giant god-king who wants to have his way with you?"[

I spent 3 hours trying to get the drm off these terry Pratchett books so i could read them on my kindle (they are for kobo), and then merge them into a single file since there are 39 of them. Finally i gave up and pirated them instead.

Kind of where i'd gotten to when i gave up was the merge file step kept failing on one of the books. And i thought maybe i'd just pirate that one to try a different copy, and then it thought, probably i can just download the whole thing. The pirated anthology has two more books too

I think Josie and the Pussycats would have been much better if Rachel Lee Cook and Rosario Dawson had switched roles. Rachel was a bit outclassed by the rest of the cast. Lots of great gags and one liners though. Of course, the best was A Special Day Sophia Loren's best picture. #lastfourwatched

#Letterboxd #lastfourwatched a slow decline after a strong start this week. I try to restrain myself from complaining about films that have a lot of fans on here, but it's taking every ounce of my self control not to mention the acting jobs by laura dern and her mother in Wild at Heart.

People say the Lynch Dune sucks, but I would rewatch it any time. I probably will never rewatch the new Dunes again after the third one comes out. There's nothing to figure out in them, nothing to laugh at, nothing new to feel. They are pretty pictures for greeting cards. #filmsky

I saw Predator: Badlands, a bit of a disappointment after Prey, but I enjoyed it. It reminded of a certain genre of video game more than other Predator movies. Things like Another World and the Odd World series (particularly Stranger's Wrath). #filmsky

Every time I see an old movie I like, I look up to see what critics thought about it at the time and Pauline Kael will have hated it. Did she like anything? I think that film critic should generally like movies or maybe find a different job. #filmsky

I feel like Pillion was more than half a star better than Something Wild and also more than 1 and a half star worse than Night of the Hunter and Baby Doll, but i suppose these rankings are compared to all movies, not just each other. #letterboxdfriday

Watched The Shining for the second time (the first time was as a teenager). I didn't find it scary either time, and i have decided it's because Jack Nicholson is the POV character. I think for me to identify with the situation it would have had to be the wife or son.

Baby Doll has some wonderful performances especially by the lead whom i can't believe i've never seen before. There are parts like the hide-and-seek section where it falls apart a bit, but it's well worth watching. #filmsky

Showed my bf Sunset Boulevard. When we got to the last line of the movie, he asked, "Is that where that line comes from?" Are there any other movie quotes that are more widely known than the movies they come from? #filmsky

Around eight million books were destroyed in Kharkiv yesterday. Many Ukrainians are responding by buying books from the affected publishers and from KnyhoLand, the bookstore chain that also used the warehouse. I bought these today.

How did you guys pick your top 4? Once movies get to 5-stars, I find it very difficult to rank them against one another, so i tried to pick movies I rewatched a lot at different ages. #letterboxd

Day of Wrath I Married a Witch The VVitch The play, The Crucible, but sadly not the movie. Honorary mentions to The Witches, Hocus Pocus, The Witches of Eastwick, The Craft, which all have fun parts. Favorite witch? Bavmorda is Willow.
