How did the 38th ranked military budget ($7.4B) keep a vital shipping lane closed against 1st ranked ($1T)? Leadership! When defence hawks come cap in hand demanding more money remember it's not how big it is, it's how you use it.

You know what would have stopped Putin in his tracks? 16 aircraft carriers and 22 nuclear armed subs. NATO already have that. Why didn't we use them to stop Putin? Maybe the problem isn't military funding, its leadership!!!!

The UK has 2 aircraft carriers and 4 nuclear armed submarines - all of which cost taxpayers 10's of billions to build and maintain. When Russian invaded Crimea, and then Ukraine did we use our deterance? No! We don't need more weapons we need better leaders.

We are told we need a bigger military budget to wield a "bigger stick". When we really needed wield that stick e.g. Crimea, Ukraine, we hid it behind our backs. I'd suggest our problem isn't the size of our stick, it's the morons in charge of it. If anything we should cut defence waste!!!!!
