i find it hard to explain it, but, i actually like slight uncanniness or deviations from "good" art direction and design. its so interesting and unexpected!

One of the few times where I really feel like HQ renders for the characters are doing the art direction a real disservice. (RJ is the GOAT btw, follow him if you don't)

While I dont hate the new Link design I do think something was lost in the translation of his facial features especially. and just for fun its its interesting to compare design decisions I made for a more realistic materials Link to the official one

Like, if a kid were in grade school when they saw the Illumination Super Mario movie, they’re closer to middle school now, the target demographic for Ocarina. This is in step with the visual vocabulary they’ve grown up with. This seems easy to follow.

Kid-faces aside ADULT LINK looks fucking incredible. I'm so fucking excited for this remake.

Cannot get over how much of Crimson Desert just seems like a clashing, cliche moshpit of AI generated ideas. I've never been more turned off by a game like this (maybe aside from that new Stellar Blade game, or that Cyberpunk knock-off... the list is growing, ignore my hyperbole).

If I ever make games in my career, it's gonna be with friends, and it's gonna be terrible and amazing all at the same time. Imagine making being an XCOM2 dev, finally making a spiritual twin to that game, and getting UNPAYED anyway -- despite critical acclaim. Games industry is a clown show.

I want to say that if the time limit stuff is holding you back from wanting to play Dawnwalker, I highly suggest getting out of your comfort zone. It's like eating your vegetables, playing an RPG that actively forces you to make choices is good for you.
