Like my old Rdiff but done right!

Guillaume Laforge@glaforge.dev

Difftastic, a structural diff tool that understands syntax difftastic.wilfred.me.uk Instead of looking line by line, or per character changes in a line, it really understands the structure of the code modifications (like formatting changes, wrapping, etc.)

The problem for me was that if the patch format is insufficient to describe the difference between two trees how can you possibly integrate a structural diff with version control? I am not clear if difftastic tackles this problem at all.

I love the stage of game dev where you spot ways to add little touches with a few lines of code, eg I just added a sunset in 2 mins

It's the time of the year for picking the top science stories of 2023. There were triumphs, yes. But for my newsletter, I pick a different kind of story: the struggle to bring back the American chestnut tree, and what it really takes to address the extinction crisis. buttondown.email/carlzimmer/a...

"We are pushing towards federation on the production network early next year (2024}". That's what I wanted to hear.

2023 Protocol Roadmap — just published on the dev blog! This blog is written for developers already familiar with atproto concepts and terminology. We are pushing towards federation on the production network early next year (2024), if development continues as planned.

Another ascetic genome is Utricularia Gibba's but that's a plant and its genome is some 160x the bacterium's described in this paper. Nonetheless it is much smaller than close relatives and deprived of so-called junk-DNA, supporting the idea that junk-DNA isn't necessary.

You are up to date.
