1am ttrpg rant: a lot of what cyberpunk 2020 is trying to do in its mechanics, writing, and world is handled with a lot of intent and is often pointed to a prescient extent, and then shadowrun basically always takes the same topic and removes the nuances in favor of being a kludgy second-run

oh shit there's a hack for three houses that turns it into a linear map-based game with very limited exceptions, compresses basically everything into stuff accessible by menus, and rebalances the exp curve and class progression to compensate while also removing commoner/noble from the game
