The Caravel drifts into view this autumn, carrying fathers and grandmothers, canning jars and prayer beads, a bell, a bundle, a skipping 45: twelve works about the people we come from, the things we keep, and the moment we finally let go. astrolabe.ooo

We're looking for another editor (or two) to help with reading and making selections, but *most importantly*, giving our socials some life. We need to shine more light on the work we publish, but the three of us floating around here so far are not suited for it. Email us at editors@astrolabe.ooo!

There's no formal application or anything. Tell us a bit about yourself and why you'd like to help. And while we do pay contributors, we don't pay ourselves, so keep that in mind.

It's surreal seeing my poem "Light of My Life" (originally published in @astrolabe.ooo) featured on the Toronto subway, truly a dream come true! Thank you to Poems in Passage for bringing poetry to the TTC, and thank you to Astrolabe for believing in my work.

I recently gave @astrolabe.ooo a visual overhaul I'm pretty proud of. I wanted to take nothing away from the universe viz but make it more grounded and better match the aesthetics of everything we've published over the last 3(!) years. And hopefully show we're in it for the long haul.

So thrilled to see Veronica Tucker's “The Waiting Room At The End of the Universe” selected for the 2026 edition of Best Microfiction! You can read the story, part of the Whale asterism we published this fall, here: www.astrolabe.ooo/tucker-the-w...
