Here are some of my favorite recent spec poems (and why I love them)! But this is just a tiny sample of all the amazing spec poetry out there, and I hope you’ll all keep looking for your own new favorites and sharing them 🖤

MR was such a delight to talk to. This was probably my favorite of the three stories we read this week. Perhaps *because* I'm in academia? Now to share it with my co-workers.

I had so much fun chatting with @electricsheepsf.bsky.social this morning about a few of my stories… and also hope and rage and despair and the objective fact that Dragon Age 2 is the best Dragon Age. An honor and a joy to be invited. Kind of made me want to drop everything and write a short story 👀

Next is “Academic Neutrality” in Lightspeed! @mruthrobinson.bsky.social @lightspeedmagazine.com

And check out “A Runaway Android’s Guide to the Oro-Ti Night Market” in Small Wonders! @mruthrobinson.bsky.social @smallwondersmag.com

First is “Lucinda Espinosa’s Twenty-Seventh Death” in Fusion Fragment @mruthrobinson.bsky.social @fusionfragment.bsky.social

I’m so excited for this!

You'll wanna check this one out! I swear, M.R.'s been publishing one banger after another the past couple years.

Terrific conversation with John @wiswell.bsky.social in @electricsheepsf.bsky.social about Garrodigh - and character identity & names, internal conflict, story structure, and so much more.

So much fun this morning! Thank you, John!! @wiswell.bsky.social

It's true! John is a treasure worthy of several dragons. I look forward to seeing him tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing John again and discussing dragon empathy.

This week we're talking with John Wiswell about his new book, THE DRAGON HAS SOME COMPLAINTS! John is one of our favorite writers & we're thrilled to talk with him again! @wiswell.bsky.social

RADON ON THA HUGO LONGLIST FOR THE FIRST TIME HELL YEAH

Huge thanks to Allison for spending the morning with us! If you haven't read the stories, go do it now!

A great read, and chillingly pertinent to the world's current circumstances...

We know this is spec fic because the protagonist finds the perfect jeans at a thrift shop - and it only gets better from there!
