All this time I was thinking about how to fit my gameplay idea into a classic rpg setting but it just didn't seem right. But I remembered elden ring and souls games, and I think I can make something work by taking inspiration from those.

So far all my ideas are flowing nicely with each other. The only thing I struggled with was combat. I watched some FFVII gameplay and came up with the idea to pause the game while the player goes through their hand and plays cards. Next thing to tackle is lore and the setting (I'm thinking fantasy).

I've started working on a 2d deck building rpg game. I have a lot of ideas and so far I have written the most promising ones. The player will be going around defeating different creatures to collect cards to then make a deck with, while also leveling their character, making certain cards stronger.

when the windows file explorer URL reads "Documents" instead of "C:\Users\<user>\Documents" even after clicking it to focus the file path, I feel a sudden urge to sternly talk to someone at microsoft
