From Pulp Literature Issue 50, find the winner of the 2025 Raven Short Story Contest, ‘She Is Magic, She Is Myst’ by Avery Other. Read an excerpt today on the blog: pulpliterature.com/she-is-magic...

Today was an amazing day. The view from the top of the hill is mighty fine. Technicality, it's another few minutes before I get there, if we go by time of day (night, rather).

The weird part of my brain needs exactly one of you to break up with me. But I'm posting about it and finding one more person to follow instead, so it'll line up on 129. Which isn't as cool because it's not a power of 2, but oh well. 🙃

Post a perfect album from the 90's that isn't Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, or Alice in Chains.

The Rhyming Story Challenge 2026 kicks off on September 15th, and registration is open! The 5th annual competition will challenge writers worldwide to create short rhyming stories based on three prompts. Learn more, register, & read previous winners at www.nycmidnight.com/rhyme. Happy rhyming!

Loved "Someone You Can Build a Nest In." Loved "Wearing the Lion." Can't wait to read this one! All of my favorite authors (Tchaikovsky, Wisewell, North, Chambers, Wells) excel at making readers feel empathy for something "other." For Wisewell, it's monsters. I am so ready to meet this dragon. 🩷🐉

Unboxing my new Fantasy novel the only way I know how: WITH A SWORD.

It's almost time to get whimsical, and I can't wait! Was this contest made especially for me? Yes! ... ... I mean, technically no. But still yes. Very yes. Don't you dare doubt me on that. My pet clown will fight you. 😉🩷🤡

I swear I've overheard this exact awkward conversation. Near enough, anyway. 😁 Good one, Friendo!

This very ridiculous story by me explores a very real struggle in the world today! Thrilled to join the parade of awesome writers in @ratbaglit.bsky.social this morning.

I don't enjoy writing screenplays. I won't sign up for the screenwriting contest next year. <signs up next year> <procrastinates> <hates the process> This turned out okay, and I'm glad I pushed myself. But wow, I'm never doing that again! <repeat every year because masochism I guess>

I'm in here twice! (a 500 & a 250) In good company with some talented friendos. And pssssst, there's something sneaky happening on page 31. 👀🎵 Thanks, Twist!
