What is the movie that came out before you were born that you've watched the most times? Casablanca. Its a War-Periphery movie, taking place during a war, but not in the war. It was filmed before Americas entrance into the fighting of WW2, and is a interesting snapshot of the political times.

What is the movie that came out before you were born that you've watched the most times? Definitely Star Wars: A New Hope. Shout out to my runner up, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The most frightening horror story? The truth.

Reading has become an endangered species. Which is half the problem with American political life. Maybe more than half. If you can't read, you can't think. Then you can fall for anything. The idea, for instance, that the truth is fake news.

"...becoming an epidemic in the U.S., just like divorce in the 1970s.". Ahh yes, the divorce epidemic brought on by the radical social concept that you don't have to continue living with an abusive spouce.

Many experts believe that estrangements are becoming an epidemic, driven by shifting family norms and changing therapy practices. on.wsj.com/4rBwger

No, we have not seen this before. Not graft, dishonesty and self dealing on this scale. The amount of money being siphoned off into personal accounts is beyond belief, it is literally enough money to buy a country. Our country. And saying it's "just more of the same old", is part of the problem.

For those who have forgotten the past 40 years: Tax cuts for the rich ...don’t trickle down Boosting military spending ...doesn’t bring peace Slashing regulations ...doesn’t create jobs Folks, we’ve seen this all before.

I don't recall the provision in the US constitution that gives the executive branch the power to imaginarily change the name of international lands, waters and monuments. I just don't understand why anyone is giving this nap deprived toddler the attention he craves. Stop feeding the troll.

No, American Airlines, I don't want your free inflight Wi-Fi. What I want is my cozy four hours of No-Fi, let me be cut off from the world as I fly across the sky at crazy speeds, its my happy place, stop bringing the horrors of reality into it!

When I was but a young pup back in the 90's I would look around at the hyper commercialization, and think that the hippies from the 60's & 70's must be really depressed about how it all worked out. Now unfortunately I know just how they felt.

Co-worker #1 discussing the recent hantavirus news: "did you get the covid shot, because man, that made me sick AF!", do you understand how vaccines work? Co-Worker #2 pipes up:"More people died from that shot than from covid!"... Come on guys, this is just embarrassing...

Libro.FM for audio books. They support local bookstores with a percentage of the purchase price. DRM free, take them where you want. Cancel Audible, its just another arm of Amazon, and cancel Amazon Prime of you haven't already. Your money is almost louder than your vote these days... Use it.

I good story is one you still think about after is over. Finally watched The Life of Chuck yesterday, still thinking... I went into it not knowing what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised... It was... Nice. We don't have enough of that in the world these days.

A system of government that fails to carry forward the last approved budget when the representatives of the people cannot agree on new changes is just stupid. Like, really, really, very stupid.

The U.S. minimum wage was set in 2007, and has not been revised since. Almost 20 years of inflation have pushed much of our country into poverty, wage slaves unable to pull themselves up by their boot straps, not matter how hard they work!

And this artifically low wage floor keeps skilled traded wages low, it's effectively a drain at the bottom that makes sure "trickle down" never raises the floor.
