Ok this is a pretty problematic opinion and I might lose some of you but this is bothering me ...someone within the booktoksphere wrote a really gross book with pedo stuff in it. Now to be clear the book sounds disgusting. I'm not gonna read it and no one probably should read it

And just like there are so many absolutely disgusting books out there. Ones that are literally nonstop rape and torture with even worse stuff like putting babies in blenders and having sex with and/or eating dead bodies. ooktok is not much better with it's love of the most problematic relationships

And I know people fear it will normalize pedophilia but once again...it's a book. The law tend not to think books are so dangerous that the author should be arrested, even the ones directly linked to violence Like I'm not defending the book but having it treated as actual csam seems moral panicy

God I am really getting sick of every remotely violent, sexual or problematic word being censored on line. How did we get from an internet where you could do anything you wanted yo 9ne where we are now penalized for swearing. Even this platform sucks about that in it's own way

I'm also sick of the fact we lost the battle where despite never being proven, every piece of media that shows anything bad will make people do that bad thing. I see it brought up so much like movies are instruction manuals and they don't even limit it to kids anymore

One thing I'll say tgat might be a hot take it, I think trigger warnings are extremely unnecessary these days. If you know something will trigger you, there are a million things you can check before consuming media to see if it contains any of that
