I recently gave a talk on pluralistic ignorance and motonormativity in New Zealand, and it's now online if you might want to see it

We were fortunate to have Prof @ianwalker.bsky.social visit Wellington recently to share his knowledge on #motonormativity and #carDependency with us. m.youtube.com/watch?v=5yQ7...

These issues are highly relevant for the challenges we face in Aotearoa. As we push for greater #climateAction, as we decide which party to vote for; let's remember all the ways we stand to benefit from less driving and shifting more journeys to #publicTransport, #walking, and #cycling.

Let's demand a lot more than just swapping fossil fuels for electricity in private cars. But we need a government that understands this and invests accordingly and boldly as we make these shifts together.

Last Saturday morning our Co-Chairs Alex and Linda cycled out to attend the dawn blessing of Te Ara Tupua. This magnificent facility is opening on 16 May. We're looking forward to riding it and celebrating!!! 🥳💚🚲

Sharing this excellent and thought-provoking #GCN video again. “A disconnected cycle network is almost as bad as no cycle lane at all” Ask your #LocalElections2026 candidates to support #ActiveTravel

Being more resilient to fuel supply disruption is only one of the many co-benefits of properly investing in other ways of getting around. The current government has made things even worse by their policy choices and actions.

They are severely hostile towards #walking, #cycling, #publicTransport, #passengerRail, rail in general, and coastal shipping (including ferries!) Let's make sure we demand better from future governments when we vote later this year!for us, and future generations!

I had the chance to get an early explore of the Te Ara Tupua path and corridor resilience project today. Very impressive and nearly finished! We need more projects like this that prioritise #walking, #cycling, and #publicTransport like #passengeRail. Ka pai to all involved!

Like all Wellingtonians, we're dismayed by the situation the Moa Point failure has created. We trust that our leaders will work to identify the true causes behind this failure and deliver solutions that ensure this doesn’t happen again.
