At an internal NASA townhall acting director Sean Duffy said that getting to the moon was "manifest destiny to the stars." Who wants to bet that he understands the implications of that phrase but doesn't actually care.

The answer is 100%. We also got these gems, "but sometimes we can let safety be the enemy of making progress. We have to be able to … take some leaps." This is not the spirit of NASA, this is a twisted 'tech bro' vision. NASA strives to do things right, safe, and lasting.

"The president, though we have a reduced budget, he gave us more money for space exploration. That’s what we’re going to do..." The president's budget is $18b, current budget and congressional budget is around $24b. They have been cutting things regardless of the actual budget.

Ranked choice voting is coming to DC!   I was proud to vote for @chenderson.bsky.social and @brianneknadeau.bsky.social's amendment to fund Initiative 83 and expand choice in District elections.   This is a win for fairer elections and upholding the will of the voters.

The contempt the Corporatist Dems have for their own base is appalling. The rank & file dems voted for Mamdani in their primary, he is who they wanted. Get in line and "vote blue no matter who" as you pleaded in 2024.

So Schumer and Jeffries (both from NY) declined to endorse the Democrat that the Democrat voters put on the Democrat ticket for NY mayor. And there are rumors that donors are looking to instead back Cuomo as an independent.

So why not have a retirement age in Congress? Not even getting into the ramifications of trying to read, understand, and debate laws that affect millions of people while having cognitive decline (Dianne Feinstein), this Ugly budget bill passed by 1 vote because 3 Dems have died since March.

And i dont see this as age-ism, it is simply not wanting to give up power. If you are unfit to do that job, and have the option to not, stop and let someone more capable handle it. If you dont believe ANYONE is more capable than your dying ass, you are not someone who should have power.

I like this idea! With it we can relegate 'conservative' to social leanings. E.g. "yeah, he may be socially liberal, but he is heavily an economic Corporatist so i wont vote for him."

I keep seeing lies about the Birthright citizenship stuff that I want to make sure people can reference the truth. Specifically that it was only to give citizenship to ex-slaves. This is absolutely wrong. Immigrants were debated and the matter was made abundantly clear. (🧵)

For every major rebellion, revolution, and conflict there is a trigger, a "shot heard round the world" that sparks violence. This crisis is inching closer to that moment. I believe it will be a moment like this, but where an ICE agent shoots someone and riots begin.

This is what ICE does: just like they stalked the family’s car and smashed the windows in to kidnap them. They attack people on the streets grab them and take them to concentration camps. Entire neighborhoods gather to protect little babies & their moms from being separated & kidnapped.

My take on this Bernie and AOC flying private stuff: I dont care! MTG/GOP calling them hypocrites...pot meet kettle, dont care. People calling them out because they want the Green New Deal, so what? This is a distraction tactic to pit progressives against each other.

To add to this industrial pollution is SO much worse than a hand full of people taking a private flight on a tour. Maybe if the airlines industry was given tougher pollution regulations we would have more green flight options already available.

When the president flouts the law it is not time for "business as usual"; it is a crisis and incumbent on the opposition party to blockaid, stifle, and obstruct. So would the 16 dems who voted for David Perdue's nomination please explain WHY they are not, and are acting like this is all normal?
