It's nearly Short-eared Owl season here in the Pacific Northwest. It's been a while since I've gone out to photograph them, but this was a happy memory from one of my first forays some 15 years ago.

This year's Zambia safari was a bit weird for leopards. Typically this is the one of the world's best areas for leopard viewing, and we did see quite a few. But the sightings were pretty mid (a lot of napping cats, or at night). Our best encounter was with this male, as he patrolled his territory.

Stunning Indah 😻 Her animal care team describes Indah as a “calm, mellow tiger who goes with the flow.” They say she’s also very social and personable, and chuffs at the other tigers. She is a fast learner and loves to explore. 🐅 📸: Animal care staff Katie

Indah is ready to get this pumpkin party started! Our Sumatran tiger received a donated, MASSIVE pumpkin today for some fall enrichment. And she’s not the only one getting in on the fun! Animals throughout the Asian Forest Sanctuary will get a piece of the punkin’ action during Zoo Boo this weekend.

A tired cheetah sticks to the shade of the only bush for several hundred meters in the Serengeti. We found this cat during my first trip to Africa way back in 2007.
