Our article is on the COVER of this month’s issue of @cp-devcell.bsky.social!
Congrats to all the authors for the hard work, especially Shota, Despina and @jamesbriscoe.bsky.social
Our work on the role of the proteasome in developmental tempo is out!!!! 🐭⌛️👤⏳
Six years after identifying an association between protein stability and developmental tempo, we now demonstrate a causal link between protein turnover and developmental tempo through proteasomal degradation
Is healthy ageing possible on a normal diet?
Our new eLIFE paper describes metabolic re-engineering of yeast to avoid senescence
The A2A mutant we created is super-fit late in life even on a rich high glucose diet… these cells stay healthy until they die!

New preprint:
Cells surviving #osimertinib frequently enter a defective S phase with DNA replication and segregation errors
Preventing S phase avoids emergence of #drug resistance

The DYRK protein kinases, near neighbours to the MAPKs in the CMGC arm of the human kinome, control critical cell fate decisions and are deregulated in disease, much like the MAPKs and CDKs.

Happy holidays from all of us at the Babraham Institute!✨Our card includes an image of a mouse intestine that has been stained for DNA (blue), e-cadherin (green) and muc2 (red). 📸 Petrina Tan, Christophorou lab
Our team has successfully achieved human embryo implantation in the lab using a 3D endometrial scaffold.
The Goal: Implantation is of the biggest hurdle in pregnancy. By understanding this process in the lab, we can develop new therapeutics to improve clinical outcomes and IVF success rates.
Christmas has come early. Fantastic to see this beautiful study from Peter Rugg-Gunn's lab at The Babraham Institute published today. Congratulations to Matteo Mole, Sarah Elderkin, Irene Zorzan and all other authors!
