And in addition to being used to crack down on immigrants' speech, the powers of the Border Patrol, ICE, and DHS more broadly are used to surveil & crack down on citizens who exercise their rights to protest.

Also like our *society* isn't one uniform totalizing system that indoctrinates us all into patriarchy the exact same way from a standardized textbook, but a varied network structure or ecosystem. There are *different* (interlocking and conflicting) patriarchal narratives and norms in circulation!

Fascism is a modern (era) anti-modernism (ideology). Few marauders in history would see themselves as aligned with every other man carrying weapons and intending violent conquest, since those were adversaries. But today the shame and frustration of modern checks on power eclipses everything else.

My very first experience in Budapest -- literally upon walking out of the famous train station in 2013 -- was getting chased by five neonazis who recognized my anarchist patches. Gino faces up to 24 years in prison in Hungary and up to 10 years in Germany for fighting back against those neonazis.
