I wonder if the winner is still receiving their £20 a week. Over £50k by now. To put this into perspective the average wage in 1974 was £42 per week in the UK.

Coming back from Birmingham after a great weekend with SJ. Avanti West Coast blew it. Cancelled the 11.47 while I stood on the platform. We were then told to head for the 12.21. It arrived at 12.40. We sat on it until around 13.10 to be told they had no train crew to run it. 1/2

Then headed for the late running LNR 13.06 which was a slow running train. Due into Euston at 15.30. What a shower. Will not be taking the train again. 2/2

[1971] Stop, Look, Listen - The first series of Stop, Look, Listen explores the world through the activities of a young Birmingham teacher, Harvey Higgins, and his class of children. Here, he takes them out to look over a fire engine.

This weekend I am going to Birmingham staying with daughter SJ (her in the profile pic). Tonight we are seeing the brilliant @tomrobinson.com at the Midlands Arts Centre. Tomorrow the Black Country Living Museum if the rain holds off.

The vast majority of teachers and public servants I know (a lot) work incredibly hard - at serving the needs of others! Just another slogan to appeal to those who don't actually know the truth.

This from the man who hasn't turned up for his day job but is still taking our money. We deserve better than this. We deserve better politicians. Is it time for proper employment terms and conditions for MPs? #Farage #WorkshyFarage

1973 - Focus - Hocus Pocus (live on The Midnight Special) The story I heard behind this was that the show gave them five minutes to play so they crammed ten minutes into six, but checking it out now otyer versions are this length or shorter. So we need a new theory to explain this performance.

Yesterday was spent with other CVRS members running a Scout activity day called JOTA from Severndroog Castle. A gothic folly on top of Shooters hill. We ran HF, VHF, a DF hunt and morse aplreciation for 120 local Beavers, cubs and Scouts. Today I need a lie down..

Go to your camera roll and search “boat” and then post a picture of a boat you like. The Ross Revenge. A boat with history and personality.
