I had the pleasure of attending the launch this morning of Into the Breach, the new book by General (Ret’d) Wayne Eyre, hosted by Dr. Andrew Burtch of the Canadian War Museum. Many thanks to both for kindly signing my copy.

As in previous years, I’m dedicating my digital poppy to my grandfather Pte. Antonio Sanschagrin. He served in the Royal Canadian Ordinance Corps during the Second World War. 🇨🇦

The 2026 Poppy Campaign Oct 24-Nov 26 🇨🇦 Catch the annual digital Poppy Drop nightly 6:30-9:30pm on the Senate building. Nov 10 & 11, til midnight. Get your poppies & find more ways to remember & honour fallen soldiers at legion.ca

Today marks the start of the 2026 National Poppy Campaign. Wearing a poppy is a simple but meaningful way to honour our Veterans and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for Canada. 🇨🇦

A day I’ll always remember. I was at Borden, renewing my military ID. I was having a bite to eat in the Junior Ranks’ Mess when the news broke. Because i was in uniform I was told to go straight home, no stops. For a while afterward, we weren’t allowed to wear our uniforms in public.

On this day in 2014, Corporal Nathan Cirillo was killed at the National War Memorial. The shooter ran to the Parliament Buildings where he was killed. Sgt-at-Arms Kevin Vickers, his security team and the RCMP earned the Star of Courage and Medal of Bravery. 📸 Guillaume Haché

Whenever I hear about wounded or fallen members of the CAF, my thoughts go back to 2010, when my friends Kevin and Brian were killed in Afghanistan. While the circumstances may be different, the news still hits close to home and brings back memories that never really leave you.

Marvellous 👍

the crowd absolutely erupts when Carney says the Pacific Link pipeline will reduce Canada's dependence on the U.S. Mark Carney: "Careful. They might think that's election interference. They're a little touchy down there. We're not. We're getting on with it."

This has been happening to us since we switched from Rogers to Distributel, which uses the Bell network, last year. It also happens when we try to watch Habs games.

I would’ve preferred a Liberal government, but I’m relieved it ended up as a PQ minority. Quebecers clearly wanted change, but they also put some limits on how much power the PQ would have. A minority government with a strong opposition seems like a good balance. montrealgazette.com/opinion/colu...

montrealgazette.comHanes: Quebec elects PQ government — on a tight leashVoters stopped short of giving Paul St-Pierre Plamondon a strong mandate to hold a referendum. Will he listen to democracy?

#quebec #elections2026

With all the problems Québec and Canada are facing right now, the last thing we need is another one with this guy. If you can’t bring yourself to vote PLQ, then hold your nose and vote CAQ just this one time.

Truly a remarkable way to make a simple act of democracy unnecessarily ridiculous.

An Élections Québec poll worker told CTV News that they were instructed to speak only English in certain situations with voters ahead of voting in Quebec’s general election.

These people are all the same. He resorted to violence because he had nothing intelligent left to say. Good riddance.

Heads up, #OttCity: you may hear and see military activity downtown on Saturday, September 26. Four rounds of cannon fire will go off between 2 and 4 pm as part of a Canadian Armed Forces event on the Rideau Canal.

Absolutely ridiculous. Where the hell are these kids’ parents? Time to start parenting and take some responsibility.
